Uriah Connors def. Cutler JamesI figured this would be where James (who I was impressed by on WWE: Next Gen) would pick up his first televised win, but no such luck. He lost to a dude who comes off as equally generic in Connors. Both guys are perfectly passable in the ring and have proven they can hold their own, but they need that extra something to make them stand out (and James' "next door neighbor" clearly is not cutting it). There wasn't anything too special about this, but it was a well-worked match. Stevie Turner def. Kendal GreyTurner resurfaced on Tuesday's NXT where it was revealed she'll be Jordynne Grace's opponent on next week's episode. It's a shame that she'll only win when she's being built up to lose to someone else, but hey, an occasional win is better than nothing. Unfortunately, it wasn't much to this match. The crowd has been given little reason to care about Grey so far and Turner isn't around often enough for fans to care about her, either. At least it served as a showcase win for Turner. No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey and Myles Borne) def. Tyson Dupont and Tyriek IgweNo Quarter Catch Crew recently cost The D'Angelo Family the NXT Tag Team Championship, so although Dupont and Igwe recently scored a win on NXT TV, it made more sense for No Quarter Catch Crew to win here. It was the best bout of the bunch, even though it was average at best. The crowd wasn't too lively for it despite both teams being semi-established. For what it's worth, Drew Gulak's departure has hardly affected No Quarter Catch Crew's standing in NXT. They're pretty much in the same spot they've always been in. Overall ShowWe were back to the three-match format this week, which didn't make much of a difference because none of the three matches were anything worth writing home about. It was more of a middle-of-the-road show than it was a bad show, and I appreciated that all of the matches accomplished what they needed to. No Quarter Catch Crew got back in the win column, Turner picked up an overdue victory before facing Grace on Tuesday, and Connors and James got additional experience with their outing.
