WWE NXT Level Up Review - November 22, 2024

Joe Coffey def. Harlem Lewis

Gallus seemed to wrap up their rivalry with Shiloh Hull, Dion Lennox and Cutler James when they lost to them in a six-man tag team match a few weeks ago, but Coffey was right back to facing a rookie here. We haven't seen a ton from Lewis yet, but I thought he had a solid showing in this match, at least whenever he was on offense. This was decent for the time given.

Lainey Reid def. Tyra Mae Steele

Reid has been one of the shining stars on Level Up for the last month or so. She's made the most of every opportunity she's gotten in the ring and on the mic. This was another quality contest from her as she and Steele worked well together. To Steele's credit, she's gotten over with the audience and has also been showing signs of improvement. I liked how Layla Diggs furthered her feud with Reid by confronting her afterward.

Dante Chen def. Shiloh Hill

No one elevates talent on Level Up more than Chen. He plays the gatekeeper role extremely well, but it would've been nice to see NXT do more with him following his mini push over the summer. Despite him and Hill both being babyfaces, but they had a well-wrestled match. Hill will be one to watch as he has consistently impresses, but he has to develop more of a character.

Overall Show

All in all, this was an average edition of Level Up. None of the three matches were anything out of the ordinary, but none of them were awful, either. The opening and closing matches were more of the same, but the women's match may have been my favorite because of Reid's rise and the quick post-match angle with Diggs. As I've said before, that sort of stuff goes a long way in making Level Up more enjoyable and less basic.
