Jaida Parker def. Thea Hail in an Evolution Eliminator MatchThese two have been at odds for at least the last month or so and thus I appreciated the hot start to the match with Hail attacking Parker from behind during her entrance. They worked with intensity during the matchup, which made for a fun final stretch. I would've been fine with either of them advancing, but Parker belongs in championship contention right now and Hail can easily bounce back from the loss. Lash Legend def. Kelani Jordan in an Evolution Eliminator MatchThis was along the same lines as the opener in that it was well worked and had an unpredictable outcome. Jordan has been more heelish this year, but she hasn't been able to take that next step toward the NXT Women's Championship picture. That didn't happen here, either, so I have no idea what's next for her. As for Legend, officials are obviously high on her singles potential, so we'll see how she fares in the number one contender's Fatal 4-Way. Tensions Boiled Over Between Tony D'Angelo, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Luca CrusifinoAs I've said before, this entire storyline has been boring and uninteresting, and I don't think I'm the only one that feels that way. These segments teasing tension between D'Angelo and Crusifino are whatever and there's no endgame that would make this stuff worthwhile other than D'Angelo finally leaving NXT for the main roster. Lorenzo needs to beat D'Angelo again soon (presumably at The Great American Bash) so this can be over with. Yoshiki Inamura, Josh Briggs and Elijah def. TNA World Champion Trick Williams, Wes Lee and A.J. FrancisI like that Williams, First Class and The High Ryze are all aligned at this point. This was a nice match to set up Williams' next challenger, but I could've done without Williams taking the pin. Plus, it's pretty silly that Inamura would give his title shot next week to Briggs if the idea is that he'll go after the NXT Championship and they can both hold gold. Why wouldn't he challenge for the TNA World Championship and Briggs can chase the NXT Championship? It lacks logic. Izzi Dame def. Zaria in an Evolution Eliminator MatchI'm not a big fan of Zaria being made to feel like just another wrestler on the roster. I enjoy her tag team with Sol Ruca, but she should be protected a bit more. I'm also not a fan of her being distracted by Tatum Paxley popping up at ringside beside Ruca. As a match, this was decent enough for the time given. Dame is trying to convince Paxley to join The Culling, so we'll see where that goes. Jordynne Grace def. Lola Vice in an Evolution Eliminator MatchGrace has unfortunately been def Rebel'd as the entrance music she brought over from TNA to NXT is now no more. What's worse is that her new theme is just plain bad and generic. Sigh. The match itself was solid and the finishing sequence was well done, but I'm sure it could've been better with more time given the talent level between the two. I get the sense Grace will get the shot at Evolution, lose and head to the main roster shortly thereafter. Fatal Influence Crashed Blake Monroe's Contract SigningIt looks like Monroe is going for of a Sabrina Carpenter than what she was doing as Mariah May in AEW. She's given off total heel vibes so far, so it's odd that she'd immediately be targeted by Fatal Influence. That just tells me it won't be long before Monroe is taking that NXT Women's Championship from Jacy Jane. There wasn't much to this segment, but it accomplished what it needed to. Overall ShowThis was a very women's division-driven edition of NXT with heavy emphasis on the Evolution eliminators and Monroe's contract signing taking center stage, making for an efficient and entertaining episode on the whole. There was also some setup for next week's show and progression with the D'Angelo Family drama, though that's a storyline I can't say I particularly care about.
