Izzi Dame Attacked NXT Women's North American Champion Tatum PaxleyIt was nice for Dame to have a moment with the fans coming off her NXT Women's North American Championship victory at Vengeance Day, but I immediately rolled my eyes when Dame interrupted her. I know we're getting a Steel Cage match between them for the title on next week's episode, but I really wish their rivalry ended at Vengeance Day because it's certainly run its course. Sean Legacy and Eli Knight def. Jasper Troy in a Triple Threat MatchThis stemmed from Knight and Troy's Triple Threat with Elio Lefleur last week. This was another fun Triple Threat with Legacy having Lefleur's spot, but even with Keanu Carver interfering and attacking Troy, I'd still argue it was a weak finish because all Troy does is lose it feels like. Plus, why wouldn't the matchup have been restarted when Legacy and Knight both picked up the pinfall win? Birthright (Lexis King and Uriah Connors) def. No Quarter Catch Crew (Tavion Heights and Charlie Dempsey)You knew exactly how this was going to play out from the moment it was announced at Vengeance Day, but I still thought it was well done. The bout was brief yet decent and I'm in full favor of Dempsey joining Birthright to give him some direction. I also loved the cameos from William Regal and Finlay by the stage toward the end. Birthright feels like midcard fodder on paper, especially without David Finlay involved (he opted to sign with AEW instead), but I'm willing to give it a chance and see how it goes. Tony D'Angelo Vowed to Win the NXT ChampionshipIn predictable fashion, now that DarkState is behind him, D'Angelo made it clear that the second part of his master plan is to win the NXT Championship. His promo was short, sweet and straight to the point. Now we wait and see if he'll challenge Joe Hendry for the title at Stand & Deliver or if they'll hold off on it. If the latter, I don't know what else he'd be doing at the event, if anything. Sol Ruca def. Lainey ReidRuca will be challenging for the NXT Women's Championship next Tuesday, so it was logical to feed her a win over a different member of Fatal Influence before then. I didn't expect the match to last as long as it did since the outcome was never in doubt, but I'm glad Reid got to score plenty of offense before eating defeat. The lack of interference from the rest of Fatal Influence was a pleasant surprise. Wren Sinclar def. Thea Hail in the Finals of the WWE Women's Speed Championship No. 1 Contender's TournamentHail is an excellent underdog and excels in her role, but Sinclair is the hotter hand right now. She's been catching on with the crowd and I'm happy she's being rewarded for it. These Speed matches are so limited that there isn't a ton to analyze or say about them, but this was perfectly passable. Personally, I hope Sinclar beats Fallon Henley for the Women's Speed title next week. Ethan Page and Ricky Saints def. NXT Champion Joe Hendry and NXT North American Champion Myles BorneThis has been in the works since before Vengeance Day, and with the subtle tension being teased between Page and Saints, all signs point to both guys getting a shot at the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver, possibly in a Fatal 4-Way with Borne (though I'd prefer to see Borne focus on defending his own title). This was an entertaining main event that accomplished what it needed to. Overall ShowThis was a solid show that not only followed up on Vengeance Day but also built toward next week's stacked show in San Antonio. Stand & Deliver is coming up quickly as well (it won't be over WrestleMania weekend anymore) and seeds are starting to be planted for what that card could consist of. NXT isn't nearly as "must-see" as it once was, but they're improving the pacing and the storyline progression has been a bit better.
