Sol Ruca and Zaria def. Women's United States Champion Chelsea Green and Piper NivenIt's nice to see NXT's women's tag team division getting back to the point it was at years ago when the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship were originally introduced, but Green and Niven coming back to NXT was pretty random. I know Ruca pinning Green will likely lead to them facing off for the Women's United States Championship soon, but Green takes way too many losses as champ for this to matter. The actual match was good and I hope Ruca and Zaria end up challenging for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship eventually. Jaida Parker def. Kelani JordanI like the story that's been told with Jordan that she's slowly lost her mind since her reign as NXT Women's North American Champion ended. It's also kept Parker busy and she even picked up the win here, which was the result. They had a well-worked bout and I appreciated that they received as much time as they did. I'm glad Parker is getting back on track after losing that feud with Lola Vice late last year. Hank Walker & Tank Ledger, Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura, and NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer & Axiom Confronted TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardy BoyzThe Hardyz received one of the loudest reactions I've ever heard in the NXT Arena (up there with Joe Hendry's pop from when he made his surprise appearance last summer). I realize the point was for them to interact with a few of NXT's newer tag teams, but the crowd didn't want to see anyone else out there but The Hardyz and Fraxiom, so that felt like a backfire. The closing moments of the segment provided some simple last-minute build for the TNA World Tag Team Championship match at Roadblock. Jordynne Grace def. Cora Jade by Referee StoppageJade seemingly suffered a knee injury during the commercial break, hence the referee stoppage. She later posted on X that she isn't seriously hurt, which is positive news given one of her knees were previously injured. The rest of the match was fine but never got out of first gear due to the abrupt ending. Grace will face Roxanne Perez at Roadblock before she presumably takes on the winner of Giulia vs. Stephanie Vaquer at Stand & Deliver. Ethan Page and Je'Von Evans Exchanged Words in a Split Screen InterviewThis is another midcard storyline I've been really digging since it started back in December. Both guys have played their roles really well and I thought they cut quality promos here as well. They're going to have a Street Fight at Roadblock, so I'm curious if that will serve as the culmination of their feud or if Page will find a way to steal the win again to keep it going. Trick Williams def. Kale Dixon by Referee StoppageUnlike earlier, this ref stoppage finish was part of the storyline. Funnily enough, Dixon was also basically murdered by Bron Breakker last year on Raw, so he was the perfect person for this spot. Williams winning this way made sense now that it's official he and Eddy Thorpe are going to have an NXT Underground match in three weeks. I get not wanting to do too many big matches at Roadblock, but why in three weeks and instead of two weeks? Shawn Spears def. Tony D'Angelo to Win the NXT North American ChampionshipAlthough I haven't cared a ton about this faction feud between The D'Angelo Family and Spears' new crew, this was a solid main event, especially down the stretch with some of the suspenseful nearfalls. I didn't think Spears would actually win the title considering he's largely been positioned as a stepping stone since returning to the company, but I was a fan of the title change. Perhaps this will lead to D'Angelo finally getting a main roster call-up after WrestleMania 41. Overall ShowOf course, last week's show was better and all eyes will be on next week's Roadblock special, but this still ended up being a thumbs-up episode with successful storyline progression, enjoyable action and a notable title change in the main event. NXT has picked up the slack since Vengeance Day and the show has become much more entertaining to tune into. The card for Roadblock next Tuesday feels like what we should be getting at Stand & Deliver, but it will be a special night, nonetheless.
