Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer def. The Meta-Four (Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend)

Giulia and Vaquer continue to be an absolute wrecking crew and, to their credit, Legend and Jackson have become quite the team. Getting so many reps across Raw, SmackDown and NXT over the last month has helped them a lot. This was a nice opener to keep Giulia and Vaquer's momentum rolling. They'll both have qualifying matches for the women's Iron Survivor Challenge match and I'd be shocked if they don't advance.

Sol Ruca def. Cora Jade to Qualify for the Women's Iron Survivor Challenge Match at Deadline

Jade has been prominently featured on NXT TV since returning by being buddies with Roxanne Perez, so I figured she was a lock for the women's Iron Survivor Challenge match. Nothing against Jade, but I was happy to have been wrong as Ruca has a better shot of winning it. This was too brief to really be anything, but what we got was decent. Ruca will be a blast to watch in that fast-paced environment.

Wes Lee def. Cedric Alexander to Qualify for the Men's Iron Survivor Challenge Match at Deadline

Lee lost to Je'Von Evans last week, so it was logical for him to bounce back this week by beating Alexander, Evans' tag team partner. This was a great match as you'd expect given the talent involved. Here's hoping Alexander wasn't hurt on that spot prior to the commercial break (thankfully, he seemed fine afterward). Lee is the early favorite to win the men's Iron Survivor Challenge matchup.

NXT Champion Trick Williams and Andre Chase Attacked Ridge Holland

Didn't Holland beat Chase decisively in that Ambulance match at Halloween Havoc? That should've been the end of the feud, but instead, Chase wants a rematch with him as well as a shot at the NXT Championship. Needless to say, he's done absolutely nothing to deserve that opportunity, but he'll get it if he can beat Holland in next week's number one contender's matchup. Additionally, Chase U will be disbanded if he loses. I'm actually pulling for Holland to win since he already pinned Williams in last week's tag team bout, anyway.

Nikkita Lyons def. Adriana Rizzo

Lyons has been back for a little bit now, and although she looked better here than she did a few weeks ago, this still wasn't not the strongest showing. Quite honestly, this was not good, but I do applaud Rizzo for her effort and improvement. Lyons, on the other hand, is not clicking, even with the heel turn. Lyons won clean, yet Rizzo attacked her afterward with a crowbar despite being the babyface. I couldn't care less about any of this if I tried.

Je'Von Evans def. Lexis King to Qualify for the Men's Iron Survivor Challenge Match at Deadline

I liked King in the pest heel role, but I don't fault them for trying something different with him because his booking was abysmal and he wasn't getting anywhere with that character. He might end up back in that role soon enough, but I am intrigued by him trying to play by the rules and not follow in his father's footsteps. This was a quality contest from these two. Like Ruca, expect Evans to have a breakout performance at Deadline.

NXT Women's North American Champion Fallon Henley def. Kelani Jordan

This was more of a fair fight for Jordan compared to Halloween Havoc because she didn't have to go through Jacy Jane and Jazmyn Nyx first. It was cool to see the NXT Women's North American Championship spotlighted in the main event for a change, but the match itself didn't feel worthy of the spot. This was well worked yet far from the best thing on the show. The interference from the rest of Fatal Influence was whatsoever, but they're heels, so it is what it is. A brawl with NXT's tag team division closed the show.

Overall Show

Last week's episode at the ECW Arena was always going to be more fun, but this was more of a focused edition of NXT in regards to Deadline build and getting some of the qualifiers out of the way. The event is coming up quickly, but they're taking the proper steps toward putting the card together. The in-ring action was above average by usual NXT TV standards and most of the matches having stakes obviously helped. This was solid stuff on the whole.
