Jaida Parker def. Lola Vice in a Hardcore Match (Dawn Marie Served as Special Guest Referee)For the record, Marie did pretty much nothing as the referee, but it was nice to see her again. This was Parker's second Street Fight this year with her first being a win over Michin a few months ago. She obviously thrives in the extreme environment as this was another fun one. Yes, it was certainly silly that Parker hit Vice with a brick and ending up winning with something else, but otherwise, this was an enjoyable opener. Je'Von Evans def. Wes LeeThis should've felt bigger than it did with more buildup considering Lee is incredibly accomplished both as a singles and tag team wrestler and Evans is a star on the rise. It's possible this turns into a longer feud and isn't just treated as a one-off, but I thought this could've been better. What we got was good, though, and I liked how Rob Van Dam endorsed Evans afterward. Why not put him in a match if he wasn't injured? Ava Announced the Return of the Iron Survivor Challenge Matches at Deadline; Rhyno Attacked Mr. StoneIt was announced ahead of time that Ava would be making an announcement on this show, so a lot of people got their hopes up for it having something to do with a women's WarGames match at Survivor Series involving the women in the main event of this show. Instead, it was about the Deadline event and the Iron Survivor Challenge matches next month, which most people already assumed was happening considering it's been a December staple since 2022. That was disappointing, but hey, the Rhyno cameo was cool. Ridge Holland and Ethan Page def. NXT Champion Trick Williams and Bubba Ray DudleyThere really wasn't anything out of the ordinary about this as it was a rather standard tag team affair, but it was still solid. Holland pinning Williams with a roll-up came out of nowhere, but I'm not opposed to him pinning the champ because it earns him an opportunity at the NXT Championship, likely at Deadline. The post-match angle with D-Von Dudley coming out and helping Bubba Ray and Williams put Page through a table was well done. NXT North American Champion Tony D'Angelo def. NunzioThe F.B.I.! I didn't expect to see them on this show, but it was fitting with The D'Angelo Family being the new Italian mob family in WWE. Plus, they all embraced each other afterward, which was a sweet visual. The actual match was more of a squash, but it didn't need to be anything more than what it was with D'Angelo winning decisively. We still don't know who his next feud will be with. Zaria, Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace def. NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez, Cora Jade and Fatal Influence (NXT Women's North American Champion Fallon Henley, Jacy Jane and Jazmyn Nyx)It was amazing that the women headlined a show in the ECW Arena considering women's wrestling was hardly a priority in the original ECW, and this didn't feel out of place in the main event spot whatsoever. The babyface team was stacked and worked well together. This was a top-notch match. Zaria accidentally hitting Grace was interesting, and her pinning Perez puts her in line for a title shot much like Vaquer when she pinned Perez at Halloween Havoc. Honestly, at this point, just make the women's Iron Survivor Challenge for the NXT Women's Championship and put most of these competitors in it. Overall ShowThis was a very entertaining show that struck the right balance between nostalgia and focusing on the future. There were plenty of surprises featuring familiar faces and some quality action throughout. The ECW Arena made for a welcome change of scenery for NXT and I'd definitely be in favor of NXT running TV on the road once a month or once every two months, just to switch things up a bit. Great stuff this week.
