Pre-Show: Shiloh Hill, Hank Walker, Tank Ledger, EK Prosper and WWE Women's Speed Champion Wren Sinclair def. Birth Right (Charlie Dempsey, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Uriah Connors, Lexis King and TNA Knockouts World Champion Arianna Grace)WWE rarely does pre-show matches these days, including on NXT, but I get doing one for Stand & Deliver with it being the brand's biggest show of the year. It was fun for as long as it lasted, but Birth Right losing yet again feels like a death sentence for them. They only just formed their faction and they've already been labeled as losers. I don't know that they're definitely dead in the water, but they're not exactly off to the strongest start. AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion Lola Vice def. Jacy Jane and Kendal Grey in a Triple Threat Match to Win the NXT Women's ChampionshipI maintain that this would have been better as a straight-up singles match, but I get wanting to get Grey on the show as well and add some uncertainty to the outcome. I figured Jane was losing the title, but I assumed it would be Grey and not Vice going over. Vice has been in NXT for years, so I understand wanting to give her the championship finally, but she should also be main roster bound by now. This was a good Triple Threat with all three women having standout showings. NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project (Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor) def. Los Americanos (Bravo Americano and Rayo Americano)Los Americanos just became number one contenders to the tag titles on Tuesday night, so this had pretty much zero story, but it ended up being an enjoyable outing, largely thanks to Los Americanos being fan favorites. Vanity Project are perfect as the heel champions because they play their roles really well and are talented wrestlers. This wasn't a barn burner by any means, but it was a nice undercard affair. Sol Ruca def. ZariaThis was obviously the best built bout on the show and a case could absolutely be made for having this go on last, but in retrospect, I'm glad that it didn't. They didn't have a stipulation, and with there being so much history and bad blood between them, it was slightly underwhelming for this to be just a standard singles match. They put forth a commendable effort, but it wasn't as great as I hoping it would be and it didn't reach that next level that it should have. NXT North American Champion Myles Borne def. Johnny GarganoThis served the same purpose as the NXT Tag Team Championship match in that it only existed to give Borne a win over an established main roster star (who also happens to be an NXT icon) for an additional credibility boost. They had a solid match, but the outcome was never truly in doubt. Dion Lennox attacked Borne afterward, so apparently he will be Borne's next challenger. NXT Women's North American Champion Tatum Paxley def. Blake MonroeThis was another match that didn't quite get out of "average" territory, and the rushed build is partially to blame, but they made the most of the time they had and put together a quality contest. I actually didn't have an issue with Paxley winning clean if the idea is for Monroe to move on to the NXT Women's Championship or, better yet, get called up to the main roster. Tony D'Angelo def. Joe Hendry, Ethan Page and Ricky Saints in a Fatal 4-Way Match to Win the NXT ChampionshipIt would've been difficult for these guys to have anything less than an entertaining Fatal 4-Way. It was wisely paced and the crowd was into the action throughout. It played out predictably with Page and Saints having their falling out and D'Angelo getting his moment, but it was the right way to close out the show. Personally, I don't buy into D'Angelo as being "the guy" of NXT, but at least they had him complete his story so it doesn't have to be dragged out any further. Overall ShowIt's hilarious how they're still using the Stand & Deliver name for these annual April specials even though it hasn't made sense since 2021. But yeah, this just didn't feel like NXT's biggest show of the year whatsoever. It was very much a decent event at best. I was in favor of moving Stand & Deliver away from WrestleMania weekend because it constantly got overshadowed by both nights of WrestleMania, but this was the weakest installment yet due to there being nothing special about the brand right now and none of these matches being remotely memorable. The near-three hours were fine albeit forgettable despite two titles changing hands.
