Blake Monroe def. Jaida Parker in a Street FightI enjoyed this more than Monroe's Weaponized Steel Cage match with Jordynne Grace at No Mercy back in September. The crowd at the Performance Center made for a fun atmosphere and there were enough "hardcore" spots to make the stipulation worthwhile. This was a necessary victory for Monroe, who hasn't much of anything since losing the NXT Women's North American Championship, but I'm sure the feud will continue and Parker will get her win back eventually. Tony D'Angelo def. Dion LennoxI thought this would be a Parking Lot Brawl based on the interaction they had on Tuesday's NXT, and it certainly started out that way, but then they made their way to the ring and count-outs were in play even though they were still doing stuff that would make you think it was a No Disqualification match. That was confusing, but hey, at least the crowd was into the action. D'Angelo's decisive victory should put this rivalry to rest and allow D'Angelo to move onto the second stage of his master plan, whatever that is. Tatum Paxley def. Izzi Dame to Win the NXT North American ChampionshipThis story has dragged on for way too long for my taste, but this felt like a fitting conclusion. It always felt like Dame was keeping that belt warm for Paxley, and although that ended up being the case, I thought they had a really good match with the crowd solidly behind Paxley throughout. As I've said before, Paxley is one of the best parts of NXT right now, so hopefully she has a longer reign with this title than she did with with the NXT Women's Championship. Fatal Influence, Zaria and Sol Ruca Attacked Each OtherMy god, this was too much talking. It felt like a segment you'd see on NXT TV and I'm not sure why they didn't just save it for Tuesday since the Triple Threat match they announced for the NXT Women's Championship isn't happening until the March 17th episode in Houston, anyway. The mic work from all three here was decent, but it was an excuse to kill time on a five-match card. AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion Lola Vice def. Kelani Jordan in an NXT Underground MatchThe Underground matches can be a bit hokey, but it's a unique stipulation for NXT and it's obviously perfect for an MMA specialist like Vice. Jordan deserves credit for the strong showing she had here despite being out of her element and playing her role well. They had a well-worked, hard-hitting affair that focused on Vice's "injured" hand. The finish felt abrupt, but I think that was intentional since a legitimate fight could end at any time. NXT Champion Joe Hendry def. Ricky SaintsThis was the quality main event you'd expect from these two. It lacked drama because I didn't think for a single second that Saints was going to take the title from Hendry, but they had nice chemistry together and Ethan Page played his role well right before the finish. It looks like we're headed for a Triple Threat for the title with Hendry, Saints and Page, and that could be it for Saints and Page in NXT since they've done all they can do. Overall ShowI genuinely forgot NXT had a premium live event this weekend... multiple times. This wasn't a bad show by any means and the two hours breezed by, but it was rather forgettable. Hell, recent editions of NXT TV have felt more important. The women dominating most of the night was cool, but especially with this event emanating from the Performance Center, it felt more like a glorified edition of NXT TV than anything else.
