Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes def. Drew McIntyreAs announced on SmackDown, if Rhodes was disqualified or counted-out here, he would've lost the Undisputed WWE Championship. Despite the stipulation, Rhodes hit McIntyre with a DDT on the belt and beat him, anyway. What a lame finish that once again made McIntyre look like a moron and a loser. The match itself was probably on par with their encounter from Wrestlepalooza if not slightly better. I have no idea where you go with these two from here. Jade Cargill def. Tiffany Stratton to Win the WWE Women's ChampionshipStratton was really selling her "injured" knee coming into this contest, so if Cargill lost to Stratton yet again, she would have been worse off than McIntyre. Thankfully, she walked away with the win. This wasn't their best match together, but I didn't mind the approach they took here with it being relatively short and Cargill coming off as dominant. This is how Cargill needs to be portrayed more often going forward now that she's a heel. Intercontinental Champion and AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio def. Rusev and Penta in a Triple Threat Match (AAA Mega Championship Was Not Defended)While the odds weren't technically in Mysterio's favor here, I still didn't buy into the idea that he was losing the title to either of these guys, though he really should have. He's had a good run, but I fear this is leading to him dropping the belt to John Cena at Survivor Series as has been reported recently and that would be very unnecessary. As for the match, it was fine but nothing all that different than we've already seen from these three. CM Punk def. Jey Uso to Win the Vacant World Heavyweight ChampionshipThe first half of this match largely bored me. They didn't work well together at all and there were several sloppy spots. It improved as it progressed, but the finisher fests have become a super lazy formula for main event matches in WWE. With all of that said, I'm glad we didn't get any interference or shenanigans and Punk winning was absolutely the right call. Now it's more a matter of when and not if Bron Breakker dethrones him. Overall ShowIn addition to everything above, there was an announcement from John Cena that a tournament will be held starting on next Monday's Raw to determine Cena's final opponent on the next Saturday Night's Main Event. That was rumored weeks ago and I dig the idea. As for this installment, it was way better paced than the other ones since they revived the concept because of it airing exclusively on Peacock and no longer on NBC. We also got two title changes, which made it an eventful evening. I had issues with Rhodes vs. McIntyre, but everything else was what it needed to be, making for a solid show on the whole.
