By Graham "GSM" Matthews “No one cares if you're miserable, so you might as well be happy.” –Cynthia Nelms You're going to face hardships in life. There's no way around it, and as harsh as it may sound, you're just going to have to deal with it. Life, however, isn't about what happens to you, good or bad. It's about how you react. In the end, you can't blame life for being bad; shit will happen no matter what. You are responsible for your own actions, no one else. How are you going to react? You just had a bad day where nothing seemed to go right. Most of what happened was likely out of your hands. If there's nothing you can do to control the situation, it isn't worth complaining about. And even if it was your fault, still don't complain; change it! After a terrible day, taking your frustration out on someone else is unacceptable. Even though you may think you were warranted that because of what happened, yelling at someone else isn't going to make what happened go away, so don't do it.
Instead, go to sleep knowing tomorrow isn't today: it's a NEW day. The past is irrelevant, so make tomorrow ten times better. Complaining about your problems isn't going to solve anything. Furthermore, it's the biggest turn-off in the world. No one is going to want to be associated with you if you're labeled as a complainer. People are attracted to what's positive, so be that positive person. It's helpful to not bottle in your emotions, so feel free to let loose and vent to someone about what's going on, but do it in a beneficial manner and don't let it become a regular thing. Find solutions to the problems you're facing, don't whine about them as that solves nothing. Again, if it's something that can't be changed, there's no need to moan and groan about it given that it's out of your control; just don't react in a way that you'll later regret. Live to entertain, not to complain! |
