I desperately wanted this DVD as a Christmas gift back in 2010, and when I didn't get it that morning, I was pretty disappointed. However, a relative of mine ended up giving it to me as a gift when we went over to their house later that day, so that was a pleasant surprise. I watched the documentary in the first few days of the new year (2011) and absolutely loved it. Along with the "CM Punk - Best in the World" DVD that came out two years later, this was one of the best wrestling documentaries I've ever seen.

If I recall correctly, this movie was released on DVD around the time that Chris Jericho's second stint in WWE was coming to an end, so the timing couldn't have been better. The documentary  ranges from his early beginnings to his WrestleMania match with Edge in 2010. He also takes you behind the scenes as to what he was doing during his time off from wrestling from 2005 to 2007. The documentary was very well done and the matches on the second and third discs were also a lot of fun to watch.

Almost exactly two years ago, CM Punk demanded for his own movie made by WWE Studios and ice cream bars with his face on them. Well, at least we ended up getting one of those two things. Production for the movie began in early 2012 before being released on DVD that October. It was such a huge happening that it even aired in a local movie theater in Chicago, where Punk and many of his close friends and family were in attendance.

As one would expect, the documentary received rave reviews. I saw them all over wrestling news websites, YouTube and many other platforms. I had to avoid them at all costs. Someone even sent me a link to watch the documentary portion of the DVD in full for free, but I turned down the offer. I wanted to wait until I bought the DVD for myself. Most people went out and bought it as soon as it was released, but I decided to save my money and put it on my Christmas list instead. Obviously, waiting two months for an awesome DVD is a long time, but it build my anticipation.

"The Lone Ranger" Review

In this new blog entitled Director's Cut, I'll be reviewing movies I've recently seen, my favorites movies of all time, or movies I feel like reviewing. Of all the movies coming out this summer that I wanted to see, "The Lone Ranger" was not atop my list. In fact, I only went to the theaters to go see it simply because my little brother wanted to, so I figured I'd tag along. I love going to the movies, so I didn't pass up the chance to attend. Much to my surprise, the movie was actually better than expected.

Remember, this movie was made by Disney, so I didn't have high hopes going into it. I don't mean to knock on Disney, though, as I used to be a huge Disney fan when I was younger. I've grown out of it now, but they do tend to make a good movie every once in awhile. "John Carter", another Disney film, came out last year. That movie was fine for what it was, but it bombed in the box office, so I figured this would be the same. Although "The Lone Ranger" has been deemed a "flop" by some critics since opening in theaters last week, I found the film to be quite enjoyable. If you're a fan of cowboys and the wild west, then this movie is for you.
