WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley Weighed In Ahead of the Royal RumbleThe concept of weigh-ins in wrestling is certainly silly when you consider that there aren't any weight classes, but I still thought it was a cool idea for these two given their MMA backgrounds. It ended up being a solid segment with some basic mic work from Paul Heyman and MVP and a few funny lines from Lesnar. It definitely could have been more (and I would have loved more of a back-and-forth from Heyman and MVP), but I enjoyed it for what it was. I will say, Lashley absolutely has to win at the Rumble with Lesnar acting like he isn't afraid of Lashley at all.

"Legit" Leyla Hirsch def. Brittany BlakeThis marked Blake's AEW debut, but I've actually seen her once before on an episode of MLW Fusion: ALPHA. She seemed solid enough, but I really would have had this serve as more of a showcase for Hirsch. I don't know if her heel turn is complete yet or not, but the crowd didn't know to react to her here. I'd assume she's a full-fledged heel given the way she attacked Red Velvet and Kris Statlander backstage last week. I'm looking forward to seeing what she and Velvet can do at Beach Break.
Natalia Markova vs. Kenzie Paige Ended in a No ContestI've heard a lot of positive things about Markova and her potential, but personally, I have yet to see it. She hasn't been awful, but she has yet to really impress me with anything she's done up to this point. This wasn't much of a match because they basically brawled for a few minutes before the referee threw the match out. They brawled to the backstage area afterward as well. This was a fine way to further their feud.
Jon Moxley def. "All Ego" Ethan PageThis was already obvious following his return on Wednesday's Dynamite, but Moxley looks fantastic and is in much better shape than he was when we last saw him on TV three months ago. Page was the perfect first opponent back for him because he's a solid wrestler and is a step above the usual enhancement talent despite not winning a singles match on TV since last June. It was competitive enough that Page looked credible in defeat and Moxley didn't look weak. The bigger story is that Bryan Danielson confronted Moxley afterward in the aisleway. That's a feud I can absolutely get behind.
