AEW All-Atlantic Champion Orange Cassidy def. Trent BerettaThis was a fun match between best friends (pun intended), but the outcome was never in doubt due to the ongoing Cassidy and Kip Sabian feud. Cassidy isn't dropping that title until he can beat Sabian, and honestly, I'm surprised their storyline has lasted this long considering it hasn't been overly interesting. Nonetheless, this had the expected comedy early on but got good in the second half. I still think Beretta is underrated despite how many standout singles showings he's had in AEW.

Thea Hail def. Amari MillerBoth Hail and Miller are babyfaces, so this had a strange dynamic. That said, Hail was the clear fan favorite because there isn't anything interesting about Miller whatsoever. As I've said in the past, she's decent in the ring, but I have yet to see her have an above-average showing. This wasn't very good as they didn't click, so it would have been better off being shorter than it was. Hail winning was the correct outcome, though.
Bray Wyatt Accepted LA Knight's Royal Rumble Challenge Before Being Attacked by Uncle HowdyThis was easily the most interesting segment involving these two in weeks. We finally out when their match will take place. Granted, it was always obvious that was where their program was headed, but it's nice to see it officially announced. Uncle Howdy emerging and laying out Wyatt was also a welcome development. Hopefully the identity of Uncle Howdy is revealed soon after the Rumble because I don't know how much of an attraction Wyatt vs. Howdy would be as it is.
Bryan Danielson def. "All Ego" Ethan PageThere was no real reason for this match other than to give Danielson a win before he eventually challenges MJF for the AEW World Championship, but I liked how they set it up last week and it ended up being a hell of a television match. Page has really shined on his own as of late and had a strong showing here, looking very credible in defeat. MJF watching from the luxury box was a nice touch. This was a hot way to start the show.
