 X-Division Champion Sonjay Dutt and Matt Sydal def. Low Ki and Trevor LeeIt was weird to see Low Ki and Lee teaming up so soon after their rivalry a little over one month ago, but I guess that's the way it works with Low Ki now officially a heel. Nevertheless, this was a very well-wrestled and fun tag team match that showcased the best the X-Division has to offer at the moment. It also successfully furthered the feud between Dutt and Low Ki and offered a small sneak peek of what to expect in their upcoming Slammiversary match. Eli Drake and Chris adonis def. The Mumbai CatsThe Mumbai Cats were no one noteworthy and were in fact enhancement talents dressed up in costumes. That made this squash match slightly more fun, but otherwise, it was pretty basic. It lasted longer than it should have considering the outcome was never in doubt, but it was a fine win for the heels before they likely eat defeat against Moose and DeAngelo Williams at Slammiversary.

 Mil Muertes def. Veneno in a Cueto Cup First Round MatchI don't think we have seen much of Veneno at all in Lucha Underground, so it was absolutely the right move to have Muertes make short work of him here. Moreover, it was cool that before the bout, we saw Catrina backstage demanding that Muertes capture the Cueto Cup, so he now as a motivation to win the whole thing. Killer Muertes is the best Muertes. Having this go any longer than a minute would have been a waste, so this was wisely booked. Paul London def. Vibora by Count-out in a Cueto Cup First Round MatchThis may have been London's singles debut in Lucha Underground and it was smart to have him work with someone a lot less experienced in Vibora. Sure, the guy is a freak of nature and has size, but there is plenty of room for improvement when it comes to his work in the ring. Thus, the interference from London's stablemates helped protect Vibora's weaknesses. I thought for sure Vibora would win, but I'm kind of glad he didn't and now we can see London and his buddies take on Kobra Moon for the Trios Championship in the near future.
 The Velveteen Dream def. HoHo LunWe're over a month removed from the arrival of The Velveteen Dream in NXT and we still know nothing about the character, which already appears to have a short shelf life. As I've said before, the guy is an impressive athlete, but the gimmick does very little for me at this point, and the crowd doesn't seem to be giving him much of a reaction. That isn't good news for Dream, but here's hoping he turns it around in the near future for his sake. Hideo Itami def. Oney LorcanI would have been so disappointed if Itami had his nose legitimately busted open and the match was never restarted. Itami can't seem to catch a break (not literally, of course). Thankfully, Itami resurfaced after the break and the matchup went on as planned. It was fun while it lasted as Itami continues to come across as more and more aggressive by the week. Meanwhile, I assume SAnitY attacking Itami and Kassius Ohno afterward will lead to Itami officially turning on Ohno in next week's tag team match.

 Jonathon Gresham def. Flip GordonGordon signed a full-time deal with Ring of Honor just recently and he's the perfect fit for the company. He's one of the most amazing athletes on the independent scene today and it's great he's on a bigger platform where he can shine. Gresham is a good hand in the ring as well, and thus this was a fun opening match. Granted, it didn't serve any significant purpose (though it did appear as if Alex Shelley was attempting to recruit Gordon into Search & Destroy afterward), but they were given plenty of time and it was an entertaining way of kicking off the show. Ian Riccaboni Interviewed Josh "The Goods" WoodsWoods definitely has all the makings of a future star, and for someone still early on in his development, this was a decent promo from him. I liked how he established his ultimate goal of eventually challenging for the ROH World Television Championship and noted how the current champion Kushida is over in Japan at the moment. For now, he'll settle for calling out Jay Briscoe. Do all ROH newcomers set their sights on Briscoe upon their arrival?
