Mistico def. Rocky Romero to Win the MLW World Middleweight ChampionshipAmazingly, I cared more about this match than anything involving CMLL talent in AEW so far this year. That's because MLW took the time to build it up and establish Mistico on the MLW shows. What a concept! They had a really enjoyable opener and the crowd was into the action. I appreciated that there was no interference and Cesar Duran and Salina de la Renta didn't get involved from ringside. Mistico becoming champion was a cool moment and hopefully that means he's sticking around for the foreseeable future.

Steve Maclin def. "Speedball" Mike BaileyBailey and Trent Seven (or Speedball Mountain as they're called collectively) have been feuding with The Rascalz and Maclin for the last two months, so this was part of that program. These two worked really well together and produced a fun opener. Maclin needed the win if he's going to be facing Nic Nemeth at Sacrifice. Nemeth wasn't available for this taping since he was in Japan at the time, but I liked the post-match promo he cut on the big screen.
Queen Aminata def. Taya Valkyrie in an ROH Women's World Television Championship Tournament Quarterfinal MatchAminata has won a few matches on ROH TV but only just won her first match on AEW TV a few weeks ago. Thus, Valkyrie winning felt like the safe bet here and I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Valkyrie's obviously very talented, but I'm happy to see Aminata showcased and advance. This was the quality contest that you'd expect from these two and was a wise choice to start the show.
Ivy Nile def. Xia LiIt's interesting to note Nile hasn't been shown with The Creed Brothers as of late on WWE TV, so she might be doing her own thing going forward. It's not as if she hasn't been impressive so far in the matches she's had on Raw, specifically the one she had against Rhea Ripley on the Day 1 edition. This was an average outing, but I thought both women had solid showings. It's clear that feud with Becky Lynch was solely designed to keep Lynch busy and not to elevate Li considering Li disappeared from TV for two months after it was over and has done nothing since.
"Hangman" Adam Page Attacked Swerve Strickland as AEW World Champion Samoa Joe Looked onPage did such an excellent job selling his ankle last week that fans thought he was legitimately hurt, which Fightful Select quickly debunked. I know it was also reported that the angle was also done in case Page had to pull out of Revolution for personal reasons, but I can't say I believed him here when he said he won't be able to compete as it was obvious he'd attack Strickland once he came out. Despite that, this was a solid segment with good mic work from all three men ahead of their AEW World Championship match.
