![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Brock Lesnar Attacked The Undertaker As always, Undertaker cut a good promo on his WrestleMania streak as did Paul Heyman. It wasn't anything we haven't heard before, but it was still solid hype for the match between Lesnar and 'Taker on Sunday. It took some time to get to, but Lesnar was finally able to get the upper hand over 'Taker. Obviously, it's too little, too late and I doubt many people still see him as a threat to the streak, but I still appreciate the effort to put last-minute heat on him, nonetheless. Alberto Del Rio def. Intercontinental Champion Big E (Non-title) Del Rio and Big E have always worked well together and this was no exception. I figured it wouldn't be anything more than a quick squash match for Del Rio, but it was surprisingly competitive and went longer than I expected it to. Big E looked good in defeat by getting out of the armbar on several occasions, but I must admit I was a bit disappointed Big E didn't go over the former world champion. Would it kill WWE to give him a meaningful win every once in a while?

![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Triple H Interrupted Batista I love how much history (and truth) was incorporated into this segment, fully making it feel like the "Reality Era". Both individuals delivered their lines well and planted the seeds for a potential collision at WrestleMania. Triple H was right in that Batista hasn't been the same since he returned, though I still enjoy him and believe he works far better as a heel. Hopefully that line will light a fire underneath him going forward. This was a solid segment to kick off the show that also helped hype the main event between Batista and Sheamus. United States Champion Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins def. 3MB For those that have been pitching for a Shield vs. 3MB feud... well, here you go! In all seriousness, it was a complete squash for The Shield, but they still managed to make it fun. The crowd was as into the action as I would have expected them to be, but The Shield's opponents were 3MB after all, so I guess that shouldn't surprise me. Kane putting them in another match against Ryback and Curtis Axel was a nice lead into the commercial break. ![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Emma def. Summer Rae These two have proven in the past that they work well together and that was on full display here. It wasn't given too much, but it was more than they would ever get on Raw or SmackDown. It featured good action as well as soom comedic antics. Come to think of it, this was probably one of the better Divas matches in recent memory. The crowd is slowly but surely getting behind Emma, so I would like to see her featured more prominently on Raw in the future, contending for the Divas Championship. Santino Marella's injury might have been a blessing in disguise since it now allows her to do her own thing, though their relationship probably isn't over based off backstage segments they've done together in recent weeks. R-Truth and Xavier Woods def. 3MB We saw this exact same match on Superstars last week and hardly anything was different about it. It wasn't a bad match by any means, but I found it difficult to get invested in the action. I was surprised by how long it lasted, but why not give more time to the women's match instead? They could have at least set this match up via a backstage segment or something to justify why a rematch was being held. If nothing else, it was nice for Woods to pick up the victory for the team as opposed to Truth this time. It's the small things that count sometimes. ![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Mojo Rawley def. CJ Parker As I've said in the past, I really enjoy Rawley's enthusiasm and just how energetic he is, but he is still quite green in the ring and the short length of this match was pure proof of that. I'm all for giving the guy some direction by putting him in a feud with Parker, but both guys need help right now. Rawley needs to work on his in-ring skills while Parker needs a better character. It is beyond terrible and doesn't garner the good kind of heat. The finish came out nowhere and hopefully this match marked the end of this odd feud. Tyler Breeze def. Xavier Woods It's sad to see how far Woods has fallen in only a few months. He was over before being called up to the main roster, which one would think would be great for him. Instead, it destroyed any momentum he had and the sight of him coming out to Brodus Clay's old entrance music ruins it for me, personally. It was a good match while it lasted, but the two were in need of a few minutes to make it feel more meaningful. I'm glad Breeze went over, but both guys need victories right now, so I'm not sure if allowing this feud to continue is the best idea. |
