By Graham "GSM" Matthews WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus and WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day Celebrated It's encouraging to see Sheamus showing more emotion in his promos now that he's champion, but I don't think even The New Day can make him entertaining at this point (though the hip shake was comical). His booking has been so bad that I'm convinced people people won't care what he's involved in and it's going to take a ton of rehabbing to make him relevant again. This segment dragged on longer than it needed to and it didn't exactly make me any more excited for Reigns vs. Sheamus later in the night or at the pay-per-view. Dolph Ziggler def. Tyler Breeze It was only a matter of time before a one-on-one rematch was held between these two. They work well together, but I honestly couldn't care less about the feud because WWE hasn't given us a reason to. Breeze has been on the main roster for a mere month and WWE has seemingly already ruined him. This was the third clean loss he's suffered in the past seven days! They contested a quality match, but it wasn't amazing enough to make up for the even-steven booking. Ziggler's popularity has peaked and I don't see him benefiting from this victory at all. I hate to sound negative, but I expect both Breeze and Ziggler to continue to flounder.

#AskGSM Edition #105: Roman Reigns' Push, Solomon Crowe's Release, The New Day One Year Later, More11/30/2015 By Graham "GSM" Matthews #AskGSM is a weekly Q&A video where I, Graham "GSM" Matthews, answer fan questions from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in regards to the world of wrestling. Nothing is off limits, and this week’s edition touches upon a variety of topics including:
By RJ Marceau Last Sunday, for my 22nd birthday I got WWE 2K16. This was the first WWE game that I got since WWE 2K14 after not getting last year's installment. My initial reaction this game was Wow. This has to be the best wrestling game I have ever played. The graphics, in ring moves and authentic gameplay makes this game a must have. The game is also more challenging than any other WWE game I have ever played. In past WWE games reversals happened all the time and it made it almost impossible for gamers to lose on legendary difficulty. The difficulty to this game makes it more enjoyable since it's an actual challenge vs. the CPU. The roster is better than any other WWE game. With over 100 playable characters you can play as main event level stars like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and legends such as Bret Hart and Stone Cold. The game has lower tier superstars like Curtis Axel, R-Truth and Heath Slater, which allows you in the My Career mode to translate from a rookie to a veteran. The Divas available are limited but it only really hurts in the WWE Universe mode. The lack of Divas makes the rivalries limited but I don’t think it’s a huge deal. The roster would improve with the addition of the Four Horsewomen but besides that I have no problem with it. By Graham "GSM" Matthews R-Truth def. Adam Rose Is it just me or does Rose come out every week with a new gimmick? I realize the WWE brass couldn't care less him, but due to that, I couldn't care less about him, either. I could go on a whole rant why that's a massive disappointment after all the positive attention he received in the ESPN special earlier this year, but I'm sure it's already implied. As for this match, his opponent being R-Truth didn't do him any favors since he, too, has nothing going for him right now. The match was mere minutes long and I guess you could say it was kept short and sweet, but it felt more like a complete waste of time. The Miz def. Zack Ryder You know, this was a "dream match" of mine a few years back when both guys were still relevant. Needless to say, it really isn't a match I've been clamoring for ever since, but it was cool to see them go one-on-one considering it's something fresh and Miz hasn't been on Superstars in ages. Their styles clashed nicely and it made for a fun little matchup for the time it was given. By Graham "GSM" Matthews WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus Interrupted Roman Reigns Another long, draining talking segment to kick off the show? Ugh. Reigns wasn't half-bad here and Sheamus showed more enthusiasm than usual, but as I've said ad nauseam since he won the title last week, people won't care about him as champion until his booking changes. They didn't have anything more to say than what we already heard on Raw, so it was somewhat pointless even though the actual content of the respective promos weren't poorly delivered. Their TLC match should be entertaining, but how they get there is crucial depending on how the crowd reacts to both men going into the event. The Dudley Boyz def. The Wyatt Family by Disqualification I appreciated how this wasn't a rematch of Raw in that Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan represented The Wyatt Family on this show as opposed to Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. Granted, they're the worse workers of the four men, but The Dudley Boyz were able to get a competent match out of them. It would have been questionable to have either tandem lose here, so the disqualification finish was acceptable. Could a six- or eight-man tag team match be in the works for TLC? |
