By RJ Marceau I honestly was so upset with myself that I didn’t put a 2019 edition of bold predictions. I thought I did but going through the archives I didn’t see it. So here are my 2020 wrestling bold predictions!

By RJ Marceau After another weekend of great wrestling, I decided to rank all wrestling main events I have attended live. I know someone will be offended that I include NXT TakeOvers as pay-per-views, oh well. I have attended 18 PPV shows since 2005 and below I will rank the main event matches from worst to best. I decided to use the star rating to help paint an easier picture. Anything over 4*s I will say are good to great matches worth taking time to watch if you have never seen them before.
By RJ Marceau A new year, a new set of WWE bold predictions. Below are my 5 predictions from 2017:
Out of all my bold predictions I am shocked that Andrade “Cien” Almas winning NXT gold actually happened. I have been a big fan of Almas since his NXT debut but I didn’t see him winning the NXT Championship. I figured he would be positioned as a midcard champ but was ecstatic when Almas defeated McIntyre at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. I don’t expect him to hold the title long but his pairing with Zelina Vega has been gold. Tye Dillinger got called up but he has been barely used. I didn’t fear this would happen because I was 100% certain they would turn this guy into a jobber. Alexander is still stuck in the Cruiserweight division but could win the title in the next few months and Finn Balor had a disappointing 2017. Braun Strowman had an amazing 2017 and did defeat Roman Reigns on multiple occasions so I would consider that as a big star and is set up for a huge 2018. By RJ Marceau A series that hasn’t had an installment in about a year finally returns with my Top 5 Favorite WWE NXT Superstars. Past installments are here on the website (May 2015, October 2015, April 2016, November 2016). The turnover in NXT has been pretty decent with the Superstar Shakeup and call-ups from the beginning of the year. Before the honorable mention if you haven’t seen NXT Takeover Brooklyn III yet, you have to watch it after you read this article. I would say it was the best TakeOver so far with all 5 matches being good to great. NXT keeps showing why it has better wrestling than the main roster so if you want to see incredible in-ring action keep watching NXT.
RJ’s Two Cents - Why Braun Strowman Needs to Win the Universal Championship at SummerSlam 20178/17/2017 By RJ Marceau This year’s SummerSlam card doesn’t have the same pop that the past installments have due to the lack of exciting matchups. The past shows has featured Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton, The Undertaker, and John Cena. I don’t hate that but people wanted to see Brock face younger, developing stars. This year he will face three guys that he has only encountered twice.
Brock Lesnar faced Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31 in a match that wasn’t hyped to be that good but they contested a good match even before Seth Rollins had cashed in. Last month, Brock faced Samoa Joe at Great Balls of Fire in another good contest so on paper this match should be good. When it comes down to this match and who will or should win I have only one name for you: Braun Strowman. I know some people feel like Samoa Joe should or will win but no one has been more must-see in 2017 than Strowman. Raw was average at best when Strowman was out with his elbow injury but has been must-see since his return. |
