![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Goldberg Attacked Rusev and Paul Heyman Goldberg cut a pretty great lengthy promo two weeks ago, but I was fine with him barely speaking at all before being interrupted by Paul Heyman. This was a vast improvement over Heyman's promo from last week (though that was entirely Creative's fault and not his for thinking Brock Lesnar would get booed in Minneapolis). Rusev's promo lasted a little longer than it should have considering Goldberg's Jackhammer was only inevitable, but at least he's a good talker. His Jackhammer and Spear came off really well (aside from the trip), so here's hoping he's in ring shape by Survivor Series. Enzo Amore def. Luke Gallows in a Trick or Street Fight I know the general consensus regarding this match was that it was garbage, but I tend to enjoy the holiday campiness when it's done sparingly. I'm a huge Halloween fan, so I was likely in the small minority that loved the hell out of this. Enzo and Big Cass dressing up like Toy Story characters was especially awesome. The match itself was exactly what you would expect it to be and perfect for Enzo and Cass, though it didn't do anything for The Club who are trying to be taken seriously again.

![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Cedric Alexander, Sin Cara and Lince Dorado def. Tony Nese, Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari (Kickoff Match) This match was perfectly placed on the Kickoff Show, and I've been saying since the start that the Cruisersights should be positioned toward the beginning of the shows. That's one of the bigger reasons why the Cruiserweight division has been dying a death as of late. There wasn't any real story to this match, but the in-ring action was exciting and Alexander was the absolute MVP. It was apparent even during the Cruiserweight Classic that he's a star and I hope he gets his deserved time in the spotlight sooner rather than later. United States Champion Roman Reigns def. Rusev in a Hell in a Cell Match Similar to the Kickoff match, I really liked this Hell in a Cell match in the opening slot of the pay-per-view as I feel the crowd would have crapped on it otherwise. At almost 25 minutes, it lasted much longer than it needed to and the first half was rather dull, but they picked up the pace down the stretch and exceeded my expectations. I'm beyond ready for this rivalry to be over with, but now I question who will be next to challenge Reigns for the United States Championship. ![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Neville def. Titus O'Neil Both of these guys have been permanent fixtures on WWE Superstars for months, yet I don't think we've seen them against each other in one-on-one action, right? If they have faced off, I don't recall that whatsoever. At any rate, this was a fine enough match that never seemed to get off the ground (until Neville hit the Red Arrow, anyway). Neither Neville nor O'Neil have any momentum on their side right now, so the fans largely sat on their hands for this. Cedric Alexander, Sin Cara and Lince Dorado def. Tony Nese, Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari I had zero idea this was taped for Superstars when it was announced for the Hell in a Cell card this past week. I'm assuming no one else knew that either considering I didn't hear anyone else mention it. If this match was any indication, that Hell in a Cell Kickoff match should be good. It wasn't as exhilarating as it would have been in the Cruiserweight Classic or even on NXT (see: this week's episode), but it was still very well-wrestled and better than anything involving Jinder Mahal, Curtis Axel, etc. |
