Rapid Delivery Pete def. KamikaziRich Swann as Rapid Delivery Pete is one of the best parts of these IPWF shows. It was funny when the commentators mentioned that the crowd only wanted him to win because they were promised free pizza if he did. He'd be the biggest babyface on the roster if that was legitimate, at least if I was in the audience. I don't know who portrayed Kamikazi because he was in a ninja outfit, but they had a well-wrestled opener with Pete's over-the-top antics making it more enjoyable.

Jimmy Lloyd def. Cannonball in a Thumbtack Pit of Death MatchThis was yet another installment on the never-ending Second Gear Crew vs. Calling feud. We barely see Lloyd on MLW programming and Cannonball is just a random member of The Calling, so it was tough to care about this, in addition to it having a stupid stipulation. I thought I was watching a GCW show and that's not a compliment. It was your typical hardcore match and a total mess. If you enjoy this sort of stuff, then that's great, but I found it to be unnecessary nonsense.
ROH World Champion and NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston def. Lee Johnson in an ROH World Championship Proving Ground Match (NJPW Strong Openweight Championship Was Not Defended)Athena wasn't wrong when she said that Kingston barely shows off on ROH TV, but at least he's making more appearances than Claudio Castagnoli was right before he lost the belt. It's clear Tony Khan simply sees Johnson as a good hand at this point with no plans to do anything of note with him, but I appreciated that he scored an ample amount of offense in what turned out to a fairly competitive contest. Kingston may not be ROH World Champion for much longer depending on the outcome of the Continental Classic.
Duke Hudson def. Charlie DempseyBoth Hudson and Dempsey are super solid workers with bright futures if they can continue on their current respective paths. Hudson is stuck in Chase U for now and Dempsey is doing his thing in Drew Gulak's group, but matches such as this one allow them to showcase their skills. The crowd clearly had no idea who they were, but they had a really well-wrestled match in the time allotted to them.
Jon Moxley def. Jay Lethal in a Continental Classic Gold League MatchI can't imagine anyone actually thought Moxley would lose to Lethal, even though I'm sure we're going to get an upset or two during this tournament. Despite the obvious outcome, these two had an enjoyable opener. Lethal's matches not being watered down by relentless interference is a refreshing change of pace. I'd love for him to branch back out on his own after this thing is over, but I doubt that'll be the case.
