Jon Moxley def. Jeff HardySimilar to Hardy's outing against Swerve Strickland last week, this was another first-time-ever match that I thoroughly enjoyed. It wasn't on the same level as Hardy vs. Strickland but still very good. Hardy continues to show signs of frustration and I'm interested to see him and Matt as heels again for the first time in a long time together. As for Moxley, I'm curious what he's being built up for with these wins.

#AskGSM Edition #531: How Could Triple H Have Handled the Post-Royal Rumble Presser Differently?1/31/2024 #AskGSM is a weekly Q&A video where I, Graham "GSM" Matthews, answer fan questions from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in regards to the world of wrestling. Nothing is off limits, and this week's edition touches upon a variety of topics including:
Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes def. The LWO (Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro) in a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Semifinal MatchI'm honestly amazed Williams and Hayes have made it to the finals because that means Williams will be pulling double duty at Vengeance Day. Obviously, they won't win (especially if Hayes is turning on Williams that night), but it does add another interesting layer to their ongoing story. As a match, this was really good stuff. LWO have made the most of their return to NXT and neither team was hurt by the babyface vs. babyface dynamic. Post-match, Oba Femi attacked LWO ahead of his upcoming rematch with Dragon Lee.
Drew McIntyre Attacked CM PunkNeedless to say, this was easily the best promo Punk has cut since returning to WWE. It's just such a shame it had to come under such circumstances. The fact he'll miss WrestleMania 40 (where he was virtually guaranteed to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship) is a massive bummer, but like he said, there's always next year. McIntyre played his role perfectly in this segment (continuing to do the best work of his entire career), and Zayn going after McIntyre was logical given their own history. A strong segment to start the show.
Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli) def. Shane Taylor PromotionsApparently Moxley has been the go-to guy to kick off AEW shows as of late. This stemmed from Moxley previously beating both Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty in singles matches. They had the very good, hard-hitting tag team match you'd expect considering who was involved. Blackpool Combat Club continue to spin their wheels, but this was a nice win for them and I can't complain about getting more of Shane Taylor Promotions on AEW TV.
