Triple H Crashed Mr. McMAhon's Family Photo

Vince hoped to get a "family photo" with Shane, Stephanie and his "illegitimate son" Hornswoggle, but it was all downhill after Triple H interrupted. And I don't mean that in a bad way, either, because I personally got a kick out of him bringing out the likes of Pat Patterson, Mae Young, Sunny, Big Dick Johnson, and various others. It was a total train wreck of a segment, but that was what I loved about it, almost like something straight out of the Attitude Era (but the entertaining parts of that period).

Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy def. Carlito in a Ladder Match

Hardy was set to face Triple H that Sunday in a WWE Championship No. 1 Contender's match, so the outcome of this contest was slightly in doubt. He is the master of Ladder matches after all, and Carlito was able to hold his own, so this was a fun little match. It was perfect for TV in that it was better than your average Raw match but also not too crazy that it belonged on pay-per-view.

CM Punk Interrupted John Cena

This is one of my favorite Punk promos, not only because his delivery was fantastic but also because essentially everything he said was true. From how Cena basically bullied Vickie Guerrero the week prior to how he "injured" Batista and Wade Barrett when he didn't need to, Punk hit the nail right on the head with all of his points. Cena's only response was to fight, which was so typical of his character. Punk's line at the end about giving Cena the surprise of a lifetime later in the night was a great cliffhanger for the remainder of the show.

WWE Tag Team Champion Santino Marella def. Ted DiBiase

DiBiase and Maryse lost a mixed tag team match to Santino and Tamina the week prior, so this should have been DiBiase's opportunity to bounce back with a victory. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Instead, he lost in the matter of a minute to Santino before being embarrassed afterward by Santino and Tamina. It was evident that WWE had no clue how to use him and that his partnership with Maryse was doing nothing for him whatsoever.

Goldust, Heath Slater, Rhyno, Titus O'Neil and Apollo Crews def. Curt Hawkins, The Miztourage and The Revival

So, I guess this means Goldust is a babyface again without actually turning, eh? In all seriousness, this was a perfectly acceptable opener that the crowd was hot for, if only for Slater and Rhyno. I'm a big Revival fan and I think they're better than being thrown into a match with a bunch of enhancement talent, but they were fun whenever they were in the ring. The babyfaces went over in predictable fashion, and despite not being on TV much in the last year, Slater and Rhyno continue to be a popular act with audiences. On a side note, Hawkins noted on Twitter afterward that this marked his 150th consecutive loss. Thus, I witnessed history, woo!

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore def. Kalisto

Cruiserweight matches, unless they feature certain stars, don't interest me all that much in 2017. That being said, I missed the first half of this match because I went to get food. I do not regret my decision. The match was actually better than expected from what I saw with some entertaining antics from both guys. As expected, Amore got a big pop when he came out before quickly turning the crowd against him with a funny heel promo.

John Cena Attacked WWE Champion Sheamus

Hartford has never been considered a "smarky" city, so it wasn't too shocking that the Connecticut crowd was almost fully behind Cena here. Besides, how could they not be given he asked them if they wanted to see a Tables match for the WWE Championship with him and Sheamus? Speaking of whom, Sheamus also played his role well here, and Cena putting Sheamus through a table set the stage for the main event nicely.

Ted DiBiase def. Evan Bourne

The stipulation was that if either DiBiase or Cody Rhodes lost their respective matches, they would be booted from The Legacy. Tension had been teased within The Legacy before and went nowhere, and this was no different because they both won their matches. This was fine for what it was. By this point, Bourne had been firmly established as an enhancement talent who could do cool flippy moves, so him losing wasn't a surprise.
