LAX Attacked Impact World Tag Team Champions The Lucha BrothersI've been really digging this feud over the Impact World Tag Team Championship and have been enjoying all of their encounters. Konnan kept things short and sweet on the mic before the two teams went at it. This was an exciting brawl that served as a great teaser for their upcoming Full Metal Mayhem match at Rebellion. If their last few clashes have been any indication, that should be nothing short of stellar. Scarlett Bordeaux def. Glenn GilberttiI'm honestly surprised this lasted as long as it did. I'm not super high on intergender matches, but this was fairly serviceable. Bordeaux is a lot better than I thought she would be (I haven't been tuning into her stuff on the One Night Only events), while Gilbertti was probably the perfect person for her to debut against considering the comedic nature of his character. That said, I have no desire to see this feud continue.

Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano Went Face-to-FaceNXT didn't have much time to give this bout the build it deserves heading into TakeOver: New York, but this was an excellent way of heating up their encounter and establishing bad blood between them. Cole noted how he has been Mr. TakeOver since arriving in NXT, while Gargano cut a passionate promo about how his road to the NXT Championship over the past four years has made him that much hungrier to win it in Brooklyn. This was a really strong segment that left me looking forward to their 2-out-of-3 Falls match. Vanessa Borne and Aliyah vs. Lacey Lane and Kacy Catanzaro Ended in a No ContestThis has been happening for weeks where a match featuring a few women's wrestlers who aren't established yet is interrupted by Shayna Baszler and her cronies. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, the matches aren't that great anyway and the attacks put more heat on Baszler and her crew. On the other hand, how is anyone else able to get over when all the focus is constantly on Baszler? I'm hopeful this will continue only through TakeOver and then we can finally move on after that.
Jordan Devlin def. Dan MoloneyMoloney seems to be the go-to jobber for NXT UK, so it was hardly a surprise to see him put over Devlin in a matter of minutes here. That said, this was a solid showcase for Devlin, who continues to shine every chance he gets. This was exactly what it needed to be with Devlin going over in decisive fashion. I'm curious who he'll be feuding with next, because there was no indication here. Kassius Ohno Addressed Ashton Smith and Travis BanksI was impressed with Ohno's NXT UK last week and I believe he's a strong addition to an already loaded roster. He showed off his in-ring ability against Smith and this promo allowed him to develop his character as well. In addition to offering an insincere apology to Smith, Ohno also mocked Banks, confirming that he will be his feud foe on the show. Those two should work wonders together.
