Petey Williams def. Suicide, Rohit Raju and Taiji Ishimori in a Four-Way Match

There wasn't anything on the line in this match, though it was designed to serve as a showcase for the talented stars of the X-Division. It worked in that respect, and it was a very fun way to kick off the night. Everyone played their roles well and the in-ring action was enjoyable. Afterward, Williams essentially announced he'd be cashing in his Feast or Fired briefcase at Redemption for a shot at the X-Division Championship. By the way, I don't know where the hell Suicide has been all this time and who is even portraying the character at this point.

Su Young def. Amber Nova

As I noted last week, Young's gimmick seems a little similar to Rosemary's for my taste, but I imagine those two are destined to do battle before long. This marked Young's in-ring debut for IMPACT, and she looked pretty impressive by making quick work of Nova. I didn't see enough of her to get a good grasp on how skilled she actually is, but from what I've heard from other fans, she should be a solid addition to the Knockouts division, and this effectively put her over as a threat to the Impact Knockouts Championship.

EC3 Interrupted NXT General Manager William Regal

EC3 was "fired" from IMPACT last week, and he just so happened to make his long awaited debut on NXT six days later. What are the odds of that? He came across like a complete star here, and while this was a very good introduction for him in NXT, I hope we get more insight on his character at some point. Oh, and by the way, Regal announced that there will be a six-man Ladder match for the all-new NXT North American Championship at TakeOver: New Orleans featuring EC3, Lars Sullivan, Adam Cole, Killian Dain, Velveteen Dream and the debuting Ricochet. Hot damn!

Authors of Pain def. The Street Profits in a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Semifinal Match

I didn't particularly care for the last encounter between these two teams earlier this year, and somehow this was even worse. It didn't last long at all, as Montez Ford got distracted with Paul Ellering outside the ring and left his partner Angelo Dawkins to be beaten (unintentionally, of course). Thus, this less of a match and more of an angle. Authors of Pain advancing is fine since they are the defending Dusty Classic winners, but this put a halt to Street Profits' recent momentum.

  • What matches am I most looking forward to at WrestleMania 34 and NXT TakeOver: New Orleans?
  • Where should Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon be placed on the card?
  • What is my favorite WrestleMania of all-time?

Ring of Honor Review - March 28, 2018

ROH Enforcer Bully Ray Interrupted The Kingdom

I found it hilarious how The Kingdom played up how they believe there is a "conspiracy" against them by Ring of Honor, only for the ROH Enforcer to come out and flat-out say they won't be a part of Supercard of Honor (weren't they originally supposed to vie for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship?). So, basically, Bully confirmed that there is indeed a conspiracy against them. Speaking of Bully, I like him in this role, but he has already been overexposed and it's only been a few weeks. He needs to stop appearing so often on all of these ROH shows.

Kelly Klein def. Mandy Leon in an ROH Women of Honor Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match

I haven't been too impressed by Leon's matches in the past, but I thought she fared very well for herself here. As for Klein, for those unfamiliar, the entire Women of Honor division has been built around her in recent years and she has been improved leaps and bounds. This turned out to be a good match with pretty decent time and the right woman going over, though I liked how Leon was protected in defeat.
