![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Kalisto and The Dudley Boyz def. WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day As much as I like Kalisto, I must admit that his pre-match promo was pretty bad and sounded super scripted. He's very Rey Mysterio-esque, who also was never the greatest talker. But at least he's easy to understand, though, unlike Sin Cara. Speaking of whom, now that he's injured (albeit for an unknown amount of time), perhaps it's time WWE start branching Kalisto out on his own. At any rate, this was an enjoyable six-man tag team match and I liked how they got creative with Dudley Boyz teaming with Kalisto to take on New Day instead of having Kalisto face another member of New Day one-on-one. Tyler Breeze def. Goldust These two have had something of a feud brewing in recent weeks, but this may have been the end of it. Breeze cheated to win, as he should have like a good heel, and that was all we saw of Goldust. I want Breeze to find direction, but I don't think a feud with an undercard talent is the answer. But hey, at least he won. On the bright side, I'm ecstatic Breeze and Summer Rae are going their separate ways as we enter the new year. As I've said countless times in the past, Summer is damaged goods and Breeze's pairing with her was only bringing him down. Who will she "jump onto next" as Paige once said?

![]() By RJ Marceau I know Graham usually does yearly bold predictions so I decided to jump on the wagon and deliver my own bold predictions. There may be some eyebrow raisers but at the end of the day it's for fun and see if you can predict certain things in the WWE. I will start with the more likely to happen and go to the less likely scenarios. ![]() By RJ Marceau Last night I attended the WWE Live event in Providence and had an amazing time. I know everybody wants to go to the Raws, Smackdowns and the PPVs but if you want to see great wrestling and no backstage segments then the WWE Live shows are perfect. These shows are a different environment with more kids attending but I still had a great night and here were the results. Neville def. The Miz This bout was good for the opening of the show and The Miz played his role perfectly. He plays the crowd perfect and had me laughing when he takes his sunglasses off. They had about a 10-15 minute match with Neville pinning The Miz after The Red Arrow. They had good chemistry and had good tempo throughout the bout. ![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews R-Truth def. Heath Slater Is it just me or has this "R-Truth doesn't know what's going on" bit run its course? No, it's not an excuse to "hate" on the guy. I actually thought it was funny when he did it earlier this year and even at the Slammy Awards, but typically, WWE caught on to how humorous it was and decided to shove it down our throats. Meanwhile, I've really warmed up to Slater through his hilarious online interviews and small roles on Raw. He'll obviously never get above a certain level at this point, but WWE could definitely be doing more with him. Both Truth and Slater are good workers, but this match went far longer than it needed to because I started to lose interest toward the end. Titus O'Neil def. Adam Rose I hate to sound like a broken record, but it's so sad to see Rose going through the motions in his matches and looking like he doesn't want to be there (and no, that's not his character). What a deplorable 2015 that guy has had. Here's hoping his new year is better. I'm glad this match was kept short and sweet and didn't drag as the previous match did. O'Neil can have a nice 2016 if WWE continues to give him consistent wins. ![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Mr. McMahon Called Out Roman Reigns Was it just me or did the early part of this encounter come off as awkward? We all know Reigns is a part of the legendary Anao'i Family, but the shots Vince took at his father and grandfather went over the heads of most viewers because they don't know them as well. The crowd was too busy chanting for Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, anyway, so it wasn't as if it mattered. I'm glad Reigns isn't backing down from The Authority, but it would help if he was more aggressive instead of smarmy. The rest of the segment, however, was very well done. It's about time the McMahons got their comeuppance and Vince getting arrested was a hell of a hook for the rest of the show. Neville def. Kevin Owens It was bad enough they didn't bother to give Owens any mic time much less an entrance, but to have him lose to Neville in a matter of 15 seconds was absolutely asinine. No, I'm not complaining simply because Owens lost, but in 15 seconds? To Neville? Come on, that's like the kiss of death. And it doesn't make a difference if Neville is the Breakout Star of the Year. It's been evident for months WWE has no plans to push him, but if they do, I'll eat my words. Until then, what a waste this was. He got some of his heat back with the attack afterward, but there's no chance he'll be in a marquee match at WrestleMania if he's losing that quickly. Fans will start to take him less and less seriously if this continues. |
