Bianca Belair Attacked SmackDown Women's Champion Becky LynchI maintain that turning Lynch heel when she could have been brought back as one of the most popular babyfaces in the company was a dumb idea. That said, Belair and Lynch have managed to have an awesome feud in their current roles. The crowd is still very much behind Belair while Lynch's top-tier mic work is making her easy for fans to dislike. It's made for a wonderful dynamic and their latest verbal exchange was another example of that. Belair was able to get one over on Lynch this week, which makes me think Lynch is retaining the title come Sunday.

Ace Austin and Madman Fulton Attacked Impact World Champion Christian Cage and Josh AlexanderScott D'Amore was out in the ring to ensure Alexander vacated the Impact X-Division Championship as part of Option C, making Alexander vs. Cage official for Bound for Glory. I'm really looking forward to that one. D'Amore also announced there will be qualifying matches in the coming weeks so a new champ can be determined at the pay-per-view. This was a solid segment with good mic work from all involved to set up the night's main event between Austin and Alexander.
Wolfgang def. Teoman in an NXT UK Heritage Cup Championship No. 1 Contender's Tournament Semifinal MatchI'm guessing Gallus are tweeners based on how they've been portrayed in a majority of their matches lately, so I'm assuming Wolfgang was intended to be the fan favorite here. It was well worked, yet there was nothing about this that was remotely memorable. In addition to Wolfgang advancing to the next round, it looks like we're going to get Gallus against Teoman and Rohan Raja at some point based on what happened toward the end of this outing.
Cedric Alexander def. Lince DoradoThe timing of this match was very interesting considering it was reported yesterday that Dorado's tag team partner apparently requested his release from WWE recently. We haven't seen Dorado go at it in singles competition in a while, so that would explain that. I can't say I'm surprised considering how low on the tote pole he's been since joining the main roster five years ago, but it makes you wonder, why now? He's been positioned as an undercard competitor for a very long time and you'd think he would have wanted to leave years ago. At any rate, it was cool to hear Alexander receive such a strong reaction in his home state of North Carolina during his entrance. The commentators noted that this marked the first-ever one-on-one encounter between these two, which is shocking seeing as how they've both been a part of WWE and have been on the same shows since 2016. Once they picked up the pace, this turned into a really fun match that the crowd was into. That finish looked great and Alexander winning was the right call.
AEW World Champion Kenny Omega vs. Bryan Danielson Ended in a Time-Limit Draw (Non-Title)What an f'n match. It's rare you have the crowd cheering and buzzing before the bell even rings, but that's what happened here. Wow. By all accounts, this was a dream match for many and it delivered. AEW doesn't do disqualifications or count-outs often, but going with the time-limit draw was the smartest thing they could have done to avoid either guy taking a loss. The match itself was exceptional. It was perfectly paced, they kept the crowd the whole way through, there were plenty of suspenseful spots and cool counters, and it didn't feel like 30 minutes had passed in the slightest. The only thing missing was Adam Page returning afterward to kick off the build to Omega vs. Page at Full Gear, but because he didn't, it looks like he isn't ready to return yet. Instead, maybe we'll get Omega vs. Danielson II and they'll save Omega vs. Page for later down the line. I'm sure the crowd will still be hot for him by then, but you never know with AEW bringing in so many popular people lately.
