Bayley Won the 30-Woman Royal Rumble MatchI've seen plenty of people say that this was the best women's Rumble we've gotten yet and it's hard to argue against that. Only the inaugural one in 2018 comes to mind as possibly being better, but I still prefer this one to that one (and I was in attendance for both). Yes, there were some sloppy spots and awkward moments, but the layout was largely strong and the surprises delivered. Jade Cargill looked like a total star in her first WWE match, Jordynne Grace coming in as the TNA Knockouts World Champion was awesome, R-Truth attempting to enter was legitimately funny, the final stretch was excellent, and Bayley winning was the correct outcome. This kicked off the night on a high note.

Jon Moxley def. Lee MoriartyMoxley recently knocked out Moriarty's tag team partner Shane Taylor, so a match between these two made sense. It also allowed Moriarty to follow up on his strong showing against Adam Copeland from a few weeks ago and I thought he again proved he could hang with a top talent like Moxley. Even though the outcome was never in doubt, I thoroughly enjoyed this as an opener and appreciated that it received as much time as it did so Moriarty could be made to look credible in defeat.
Von Wagner def. Keanu CarverWagner will challenge Noam Dar for the NXT Heritage Cup Championship next Tuesday on NXT, so this essentially served as a warm-up for him before then. Carver is quite the impressive specimen, to say the least, so he gave Wagner more of a fight than most opponents. They had a nice little hoss fight that actually exceeded my expectations. Wagner has settled into his well role and Carver has potential based on what I've seen from him.
Randy Orton, LA Knight and AJ Styles Confronted Each OtherThe build to the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Fatal 4-Way at the Royal Rumble has largely been fine, but it's disappointing we haven't gotten to see Roman Reigns interact more with his challengers on the mic. He couldn't be bothered to show up for the go-home show, which is only a few hours from where the Rumble will be on Saturday? That aside, this was a solid segment and I liked the fire that Knight in particular showed ahead of his main event match against Solo Sikoa.
Chris Bey def. Kevin KnightI don't know what purpose this was supposed to serve other than to set up the post-match angle with Grizzled Young Veterans attacking ABC (we later found out the teams will meet in a Best-of-3 Series starting next week which should be awesome), but I can't complain too much because this was a very good opener. Knight is always impressive and Bey is obviously talented in his own right, so that should come as no surprise.
