Ace Austin def. Petey Williams, Aiden Price, Cousin Jake, Jake Crist and Eddie Edwards in a Six-Man Scramble MatchThis must have been announced hours before the show because I don't remember it being mentioned on Friday's go-home edition of IMPACT! Wrestling. Nothing was on the line, so it didn't really serve much of a purpose aside from killing time, but it was a ton of fun and kicked off the night on a high note. Edwards felt out of place here because he was the biggest star of the bunch (and likely would have faced Eli Drake on this show had Drake not gotten released from the company earlier this month), but at least he wasn't pinned. Speaking of which, I liked that Austin stole the victory from Williams considering they recently teased feuding. Scarlett Bordeaux def. Rohit RajuAlthough this was another last-minute addition to the card, it was perfectly serviceable for the time it was given. I'm not high on the intergender matches, but Desi Hit Squad are complete losers who lack steam and Bordeaux is better than I initially gave her credit for. I hope she'll start mixing it up with the other ladies soon, because I'm not sure how much she's actually benefiting from beating these guys.

Eddie Edwards Attacked Eli DrakeDrake betraying Edwards last week was hardly a surprise, but it did make me look forward to Drake cutting a great promo on this show explaining his actions. His promo was short and sweet as Edwards wasted no time in exacting revenge on Drake by brawling with him to the back. Unfortunately, this segment was completely pointless as Drake has since been released by IMPACT, meaning this won't be leading to anything at Rebellion. Ace Austin def. Aiden PriceAustin blamed Prince for costing him a victory in a Six-Man Mayhem match a few weeks ago, hence the reason for this bout happening. I'm not familiar with Prince whatsoever, but the hometown hero had a solid showing here and produced a really fun match with Ace. Afterward, Petey Williams confronted Austin, possibly planting the seeds for them facing off on Sunday.
Candice LeRae def. Kay Lee RayRay vs. LeRae? Please tell me that was done on purpose. In all seriousness, this was an enjoyable outing that was given a solid chunk of time. I realize these matches don't matter much, but I was slightly surprised LeRae went over, just because she isn't doing anything in NXT at the moment whereas Ray recently debuted in NXT UK and is in the midst of a push. Piper Niven def. Zelina VegaAll right, so the outcome was never once in doubt, but this was still fun while it lasted. Vega is great at being a slimy heel and trying to dodge her opponent's offense. She used Niven's size against her at various points, but it wasn't enough to earn her the victory. Niven debuted in NXT UK earlier this month, yet I already have a good feeling about her future on the brand.
Jaxson Ryker vs. Humberto Carrillo Ended in a No ContestIt's amazing how frequently The Forgotten Sons appear on NXT TV compared to everyone else. I feel like they're on the show almost every other week, and I don't regard that as a positive. Ryker might be the most interesting of the three members, but that isn't saying much. Thankfully, Carrillo is a highly skilled competitor and helped make this a decent match. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch coming to Carrillo's aid afterward should set up a six-man tag team bout for a future episode. Candice LeRae and Kacy Catanzaro def. Aliyah and Vanessa BorneLeRae and Catanzaro was the team I didn't know I wanted until now. They have really strong chemistry together and had a tremendously fun showing here. Hell, even Borne and Aliyah looked good. This was a great little sprint. Mauro Ranallo actually noted on commentary afterward that The IIconics should keep an eye out for LeRae and Catanzaro. That's a WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match I'd love to see.
