By Graham "GSM" Matthews News broke earlier today that Tara a.k.a. Lisa Marie Varon has been released by Total Nonstop Action. TNA wrote the following: "Impact Wrestling has released Tara. We thank Tara for all her contributions and wish her the best of success in thefuture." Tara joined the Impact Wrestling roster in 2009, where she almost immediately won the Knockouts Championship. She would go on to hold the Knockouts title a record-setting five times and would also hold the Knockouts Tag Team Championship one time alongside Brooke Tessmacher. She was under contract with the WWE from 2000 to 2009. She competed as Victoria during her time with the company and won the Women's Championship on one occasion. With her recent release from TNA, it's possible that we could see Tara back in WWE sooner rather than later.

By Carson Koschik That was one hell of a PPV! For the 3rd PPV in a row, WWE has delivered and given us some great matches with some awesome moments. Per usual, I will tell you who I believe did the best at Money In The Bank and what matches and feuds stood out. Best Match Award Winner: WWE Championship Money In The Bank Match In the PPV's main event, six larger than life superstars clashed in an awe-inspiring battle for the briefcase. In a match filled with painful looking spots (three of the participants got injured), great false finishes, and a whole lot of story-telling, Randy Orton would strike RVD with and RKO and ascend the ladder to retrieve his first Money In The Bank briefcase. From RVD's return to the big stage to Daniel Bryan going apeshit of everybody, this match was captivating from beginning to end.

By Graham "GSM" Matthews Brad Maddox Addressed the WWE Universe This was a solid segment all around where everyone involved played their roles well. Brad Maddox is an entertaining character that has the potential to be a good authority figure, so I'm glad he wasn't as bad here as he was the night prior at Money in the Bank. Allowing John Cena to choose his opponent at SummerSlam was good booking and a nice hook for the remainder of the show. I'm glad Randy Orton won't be announcing his cash-in ahead of time, but rather will be taking advantage of an opportunity. This plays perfectly into his pending heel turn. Finally, Fandango was rather random here, but at least it led into a match with Orton. Randy Orton def. Fandango Although Orton dominated most of the match, this was still a nice outing for Fandango. Fandango has been seen as a comedy act since his arrival, so it was good to see him up against a top star in Orton. I didn't expect Fandango to go over anyway, so the result was fine with this viewer. If anything, it helps build Orton back up as he climbs back up the card. Good action from start to finish. By Graham "GSM" Matthews (Note: These Monday mailbag Q&A sessions are usually done in video form on my YouTube channel, but since my laptop isn't working at the moment, I am unable to film the video. Instead, they will be done in written form until my computer is fixed.) James F. via Facebook: "Did The Wyatt Family debut make a big enough impact/live up to expectations?" GSM: I would certainly say so. I thought almost everything about their arrival was excellently executed. Some people were worried that their debut wouldn't live up to the hype provided by the vignettes. I think it did, though. I look forward to where they go from here. @FandangoMark via Twitter: "Why do wrestling fans chant characters' old names?" GSM: It's because they think they're cool, plain and simple. Sure, it was somewhat humorous when the live Baltimore crowd chanted "Husky Harris" during The Wyatt Family debut on Raw last week, but it ruined the moment for me. It was unneccesary and was a typical case of some fans thinking they're smarter than others for chanting for an old gimmick. |
