![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews The Main Event Mafia Interrupted TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray The show started off on a high note with an excellent promo from Bully Ray. He's always awesome on the mic, but this promo helped make the main event feel even more important than it already did. Chris Sabin's video package was also very well produced and gave the match a big fight feel. The Main Event Mafia's promo was good and everyone played their roles well. Austin Aries def. Bobby Roode to Earn 7 Points in the Bound For Glory Series Roode and Aries had one of the best matches in TNA history at last year's Destination X event. I simply love the fact a rematch was held at this year's installment and the match quality was just as good. Neither guy may be a full-fledged face, but the crowd was hot for both competitors. They put forth a strong effort in this bout and it certainly paid off. It looks like they're telling a story with Roode's losses in the BFG Series, so I liked how that was furthered following his loss when he destroyed everything in sight at ringside.

![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Christian def. Fandango While it may not have been a great match, it was certainly a good one. They work well together and it felt fresh, too, since they had yet to clash in singles competition until now. I'm fine with Fandango losing given the fact he had a nice showing against Christian and lost via a roll-up. The match needed more time to stand out more and never felt like it got out of first gear. Regardless, this was a solid start to the show. Layla and Natalya def. Alicia Fox and Aksana After the excellent matches Kaitlyn and AJ Lee recently had on pay-per-view, this Divas tag team match certainly paled in comparison. It wasn't tremendously terrible, but it was rather dull and didn't seem to serve much of a purpose. The bout lasted five minutes, which isn't good or bad, but it was definitely a forgettable contest to say the least. There's AJ and Kaitlyn, and then rest of the Divas division feels like complete filler. ![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews News broke earlier today that Tara a.k.a. Lisa Marie Varon has been released by Total Nonstop Action. TNA wrote the following: "Impact Wrestling has released Tara. We thank Tara for all her contributions and wish her the best of success in thefuture." Tara joined the Impact Wrestling roster in 2009, where she almost immediately won the Knockouts Championship. She would go on to hold the Knockouts title a record-setting five times and would also hold the Knockouts Tag Team Championship one time alongside Brooke Tessmacher. She was under contract with the WWE from 2000 to 2009. She competed as Victoria during her time with the company and won the Women's Championship on one occasion. With her recent release from TNA, it's possible that we could see Tara back in WWE sooner rather than later. ![]() By Carson Koschik That was one hell of a PPV! For the 3rd PPV in a row, WWE has delivered and given us some great matches with some awesome moments. Per usual, I will tell you who I believe did the best at Money In The Bank and what matches and feuds stood out. Best Match Award Winner: WWE Championship Money In The Bank Match In the PPV's main event, six larger than life superstars clashed in an awe-inspiring battle for the briefcase. In a match filled with painful looking spots (three of the participants got injured), great false finishes, and a whole lot of story-telling, Randy Orton would strike RVD with and RKO and ascend the ladder to retrieve his first Money In The Bank briefcase. From RVD's return to the big stage to Daniel Bryan going apeshit of everybody, this match was captivating from beginning to end. ![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Brad Maddox Addressed the WWE Universe This was a solid segment all around where everyone involved played their roles well. Brad Maddox is an entertaining character that has the potential to be a good authority figure, so I'm glad he wasn't as bad here as he was the night prior at Money in the Bank. Allowing John Cena to choose his opponent at SummerSlam was good booking and a nice hook for the remainder of the show. I'm glad Randy Orton won't be announcing his cash-in ahead of time, but rather will be taking advantage of an opportunity. This plays perfectly into his pending heel turn. Finally, Fandango was rather random here, but at least it led into a match with Orton. Randy Orton def. Fandango Although Orton dominated most of the match, this was still a nice outing for Fandango. Fandango has been seen as a comedy act since his arrival, so it was good to see him up against a top star in Orton. I didn't expect Fandango to go over anyway, so the result was fine with this viewer. If anything, it helps build Orton back up as he climbs back up the card. Good action from start to finish. |
