FTR def. Private PartyI love the move to have Tully Blanchard manage FTR. It's been teased for a while with Blanchard scouting FTR from the crowd, but now it's official as he accompanied them to ringside here after The Rock 'N' Roll Express disrespected Blanchard last week on Dynamite. This was another display from FTR as to how terrific tag team wrestling can be and that they don't need to do a million high spots for matches to be entertaining. Private Party looked great in defeat here as well.

Pre-Show: Breezango def. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch and Legado del Fantasma (Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde) in an NXT Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender's Triple Threat Tag Team MatchSay what you will about NXT's depleted tag team division (and I know I sure have), but they can take it up a notch when the time calls for it. NXT doesn't typically hold pre-show matches, but this was perfectly positioned on the pre-show and was a blast for the six or so minutes it was allotted. That said, I wasn't enamored with the outcome. Breezango have already competed against Imperium for the NXT Tag Team Championship and lost. Legado del Fantasma made the most sense to me, and if not them, Lorcan and Burch would've been fresh contenders. Breezango as contenders do nothing for me.
Drake Maverick def. Tehuti MilesMiles has been a staple of 205 Live during the pandemic era of the show. It's nice that 205 Live is finally mixing in some fresh faces to work with the established talent, but I wish we got to know a bit more about him because as it currently stands, it comes across like Velveteen Dream-lite from a character standpoint. The match was decent, but it felt like it lasted longer than it should have as Maverick shouldn't have struggled to beat someone the caliber of Miles.
"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt Interrupted Mr. McMahon; Universal Champion Braun Strowman and the SmackDown Superstars Retaliated Against RETRIBUTIONI guess Vince wanted to be the first person to appear in the ThunderDome, and I assume he wanted The Fiend to be the first person to make an entrance inside the revamped arena. It looked awesome, but I question why they would waste so much time on his entrance if he never actually got his hands on McMahon or anyone for that matter. As soon as Strowman and RETRIBUTION showed up, he bounced, so that was stupid. I still don't care for the faction even though they're finally targeting the Superstars. I just have my doubts that it will be paid off properly.
