Hook Attacked FTW Champion Jack PerryThis segment was originally scheduled for Wednesday's Dynamite but got bumped to Collision. I assumed it was due to time constraints and it probably was, but there's also the chance they didn't want to do a funeral-esque segment on a show that aired hours after Terry Funk's passing was announced. Hook turned heel for me when he returned and attacked Perry before Perry could retire the FTW Championship as advertised. In all seriousness, this was a simple segment to set up their rematch at All In, which was already announced by Tony Khan for the Zero Hour pre-show a few days ago. Oops.

Pre-Show: Robert Anthony def. Magic Jake DumasThe pre-show stream started just as the bell rung, but a few minutes toward the end were not shown (including the finish) due to an issue with the stream. I'm not upset that we didn't see how this thrilling affair concluded (sarcasm, of course), but that's still an embarrassing issue to have. What we got from these two was perfectly fine. Anthony competed on Tuesday's Powerrr, so it looks like he'll be appearing for the NWA going forward.
AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy def. Aaron SoloI'm still stunned that AEW is having their first overseas show since this weekend and the AEW International Championship isn't being defended. Instead, Cassidy will be involved in a random 10-man Stadium Stampede match. At any rate, this was a perfectly solid match. They tried hard to make people think Solo had a chance of taking the title, but it was never going to happen. Even on Rampage, I had sub-zero interest in Solo. He’s as bland as can be and the QTV nonsense hasn’t helped.
Hank Walker and Tank Ledger def. Tyson Dupont and Tyriek IgweDupont and Igwe impressed in their debut a few weeks back and I was happy to see them get another opportunity here. Walker and Ledger are still improving as well and developing chemistry as partners, so it’s not like they were going to carry the newcomers to a great match, but this was competent enough and was basically booked as a hoss fight, which was probably the best call as it highlighted the strengths of everyone involved.
United States Champion Rey Mysterio def. Grayson WallerWaller made his main roster in-ring debut at the beginning of July against Edge and has yet to win a single match. I'm not saying he should have won here, but man, can they not give him a win over Cameron Grimes or someone of that stature? That aside, this was an enjoyable opener. Waller was just an opponent for Mysterio beat before he defends the United States Championship in a rematch with Austin Theory at Payback, but they got some time here and made the most of it.
