Randy Orton Interrupted WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Christian and Ric FlairIt would have been nice for all the legends to return at Clash of Champions, cost Orton the win and havethat be it, but WWE loves to milk things for everything they're worth. I was really hoping for the Orton vs. McIntyre rivalry to be over after Clash of Champions, but his threat to McIntyre here means it'll unfortunately continue. It makes sense to culminate inside Hell in a Cell, but Orton losing at three consecutive pay-per-views should put him in the back of the line.

Fred Yehi def. Silas Young in an ROH Pure Championship Tournament First-Round MatchYehi's pre-match vignette didn't do him many favors as he didn't really mention what stands out about him, but he was impressive during the match itself and him winning was a pleasant surprise. I was thinking about how Ring of Honor brought in several stars from the independent scene for this tourney, so I'm glad at least one of them won to show that anything can happen. As for Young, he's usually great with whatever he does and he helped make Yehi look credible.
Kickoff Show: SmackDown Tag Team Champions Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro def. The Lucha House Party (Kalisto and Lince Dorado)Every match these teams have had against each other up to this point has been well-wrestled, but I don't think there was any question regarding who was winning here. The focus was more so on the tension teased within The Lucha House Party lately. I expected that to factor into the finish somehow but surprisingly it didn't. SmackDown's tag team division is so depleted that I have no idea who's left for Nakamura and Cesaro to defend against on the SmackDown brand.
Mansoor def. Ashante "Thee" AdonisI always enjoy seeing Mansoor in action on 205 Live. He's really good despite his inexperience. I just wish we'd get to see more of him on NXT TV considering the big wins he's picked up on the WWE pay-per-views on Saudi Arabia, or at the very least hear him cut promos more often. Adonis is an exciting up-and-coming prospect as well and I thought they had a nice little match here. If Mansoor continues his winning ways, he should probably be in contention for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship before long.
Sami Zayn def. Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles in a Triple Threat Match (Non-Title)The "ascension ceremony" that preceded this match was really well done. Everyone got to make their case for why they should be Intercontinental Champion and why they'll win the Triple Threat Ladder match at Clash of Champions. The segment left me more excited for it than I was previously. My only issue with this was that, while it didn't have a stipulation, I wouldn't have booked a Triple Threat before another Triple Threat on Sunday. That said, it was obvious they were holding back a bit so they didn't give away their best stuff before then. It was a fun opener and between Zayn winning and Styles standing tall afterward, I'm more confident in picking Hardy to retain the title than I was earlier this week.
