 Impact X-Division Champion Chris Sabin def. Alan AngelsAngels earned this opportunity when he won last week's Ultimate X match. I didn't think he stood a chance of actually becoming champion, but the guy's a skilled worker and he had an enjoyable opener with the always-excellent Sabin here. Post-match, a video for KENTA played on the big screen, confirming he'll be Sabin's next challenger at Bound for Glory. I don't think KENTA takes the title, but that should be awesome.

 Tiara James def. Zayda SteelJames is one of MLW's newest recruits and, having seen her work on the independent scene, I'm glad she's getting the opportunity to show what she can do. Her winning here was a solid start and she had a decent match with Steel, but it would help if we got to know more about her through a profile package or a backstage promo. Maybe those things will come in time. Either way, she's a quality addition to MLW's women's division.
 Josh Woods def. Brayden ErvingIt's been made clear for weeks that Woods has his sights set on the ROH Pure Championship and thus his winning streak is supposed to earn him another opportunity. The problem is that Katsuyori Shibata has made more appearances on AEW TV than ROH TV as of late and Shibata doesn't seem to be the least bit concerned with Woods. On the bright side, this was over in under two minutes and gave Woods another decisive victory.
 Indi Hartwell def. Kayden CarterCarter and Katana Chance are better in tag team competition than on their own, but I thought Carter had a decent showing here as well as Hartwell. The match itself wasn't great and the finish came off awkwardly. Much like last week, it didn't help that Hartwell worked with another babyface. She won't get over until WWE gives the audience a reason to root for her. Meanwhile, the women's tag team scene is essentially dead in the water at the moment and that's not good news for Carter and Chance.
 AEW International Champion Rey Fenix def. Jeff JarrettTony Khan tweeted that both Fenix and Jon Moxley were injured in their match last week but that Fenix was cleared shortly before this show. Here's wishing Moxley a speedy recovery because that bump he took from Fenix looked nasty. As for this open challenge, Jarrett wasn't exactly who I had in mind as Fenix's opponent. Granted, I didn't have any one name in mind, but Jarrett was not a strong choice. They had a well-worked match, but the shenanigans with Jarrett's crew at ringside were definitely distracting as well as overkill.
