Wes Lee def. Carmelo Hayes, Oro Mensah, Nathan Frazer and Von Wagner in a Fatal 5-Way Ladder Match to Win the NXT North American ChampionshipAs tired as I am of seeing Ladder matches in NXT (specifically over the NXT North American Championship), this was excellent as expected. There was a ton of talent involved and everyone had their time to shine. Okay, so Wagner stuck out like a sore thumb, but he had a passable performance. Lee winning made the most sense given the story they've told with him leading up to this event and it made for a memorable moment.

NWA World Tag Team Champions La Rebelion def. The Dirty Sexy Boys (Non-Title)Rebelion have been involved in a rivalry with The OGK/The Kingdom recently and it looked like they were headed for a tag title match at Hard Times 3, but with The Kingdom seemingly headed to AEW, that might now be in jeopardy depending on whether they've signed exclusive deals there or not. Dirty Sexy Boys won't be getting the next shot either because of their loss here, but this was a solid match.
AEW World Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed def. Varsity Athletes in a Titles vs. Trademark MatchYes, this whole mini feud over the tag titles has been incredibly dumb. I guess adding "stakes" made it marginally more interesting, but that's about it. Tony Nese and Josh Woods going by Varsity Athletes now is not good news for Varsity Blonds, who may or may not be done. The match itself was what you'd expect, but one thing you can't deny is that The Acclaimed are incredibly over at the moment and I'm glad AEW is riding that wave of momentum.
Myles Borne def. Ikemen JiroI'm all for fresh matchups, but this had an odd dynamic. Jiro is beloved by this crowd and Borne has gradually been getting over as of late, so why force the crowd to choose between them? That said, Jiro is a good person for any newcomer to work with because he's so skilled and has a connection with the audience. They had a fairly basic bout, but Borne extending his winning streak was encouraging.
Solo Sikoa def. SheamusThis was a hard-hitting affair I was looking forward to and they did not disappoint. This stemmed from their interaction in last week's Intercontinental Championship number one contender's Fatal 4-Way. They had terrific chemistry and I loved how Sikoa looked like he belonged. Having him win was the correct outcome as he continues to be built up. I assume Sheamus won't be off TV for long following that post-match injury angle and will be back in time for the build to WarGames.
