Bobby Lashley and Mickie JAmes def. Bobby Roode and NatalyaFor those unaware, Lashley and Roode actually feuded over the TNA World Heavyweight Championship years ago, and although they had chemistry back then and they worked well together here, their characters are pretty boring at the moment and thus this lacked any spark whatsoever. The stuff with Natalya and James was fine, too, but as an overall package, this was a weak outing and I don't blame the crowd for not getting into it. The Miz and Asuka def. Rusev and LanaDespite no longer teasing tension during their rivalry with Aiden English, Rusev and Lana continue to lose, but then again, there was no reason for them to win here considering Miz and Asuka went undefeated last season and won the whole thing, so they should win as many matches as they can this season as well. As a match, this was enjoyable at certain points and I liked the interaction between Miz and Lana, but it hardly made up for Miz vs. Rusev lasting all of 60 seconds on SmackDown Live earlier in the night.

Braun Strowman and Ember Moon def. Finn Balor and BayleyWell, it certainly looks like Moon is permanently replacing Alexa Bliss as Strowman's tag team partner this season, which is a shame because Team Little Big was one of the only reasons I was looking forward to this show returning. On the bright side, Moon isn't a bad substitute and she has nice chemistry with Strowman. It's not as strong as the chemistry Balor and Bayley have together, though. This was a very fun match where all four competitors worked well against each other and the right team went over. WWE Champion AJ Styles and Charlotte Flair def. R-Truth and CarmellaTruth and Carmella are a completely wacky duo and I'm digging it so far. If nothing else, it's better than whatever the hell either of them were doing before their paired up. At the end of the day, they're comedic relief and they shouldn't have beaten Styles and Flair here, even if Flair entered this thing "hurt" from earlier in the evening. It wasn't as entertaining as the previous bout, but it was solid for what it was and the dancing stuff didn't bother me too much.
Finn Balor and Bayley def. Jinder Mahal and Alicia FoxBalor and Bayley have had chemistry dating back to their days in NXT, so I hope they do well on this season of Mixed Match Challenge. They may not be doing anything of note on Raw nowadays, but at least they have each other (for now). Mahal and Fox, on the other hand, are an atrocious pairing, but at least Balor and Bayley were able to get a better bout out of them than Bobby Lashley and Mickie James did last week. This was decent on the whole. Jimmy Uso and Naomi def. Rusev and LanaMixed Match Challenge really is a show of its own, but I'm glad the storyline with Rusev and Lana and the tension being teased between them (thanks to Aiden English) wasn't forgotten about. That played a significant factor in the finish and thus it was smart to have Uso and Naomi go over. The match itself was complete comedy and consisted of way more dancing than actual wrestling. If you're into that type of thing, then you probably loved the hell out of this. Personally, I found it to be dumb fun.
Bobby Lashley and Mickie James def. Jinder Mahal and Alicia FoxSimilar to Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks is out of the Mixed Match Challenge due to injury and replacing her as Lashley's partner is Mickie James. She and Lashley were an odd pairing on paper, but they ended up gelling well together by the end of this outing. Plus, I give credit to Mahal and Fox for making their tandem work even though I had no interest in seeing them team up. It was a fine little match, yet nothing terribly exciting. The Miz and Asuka def. R-Truth and CarmellaMiz and Asuka are the defending champions from last season, but with Asuka no longer undefeated, it makes her matches in Season 2 a bit more unpredictable. That said, it was fairly obvious her and Miz were running through Truth and Carmella here. Miz and Truth already had a one-on-one match earlier in the evening on SmackDown Live, so I appreciated that they went for something different with the comedy and it paid off. It was an enjoyable encounter all things considered.
