King Cuerno def. Super FlySimilar to how Cuerno stalked Drago during one of his matches a few episodes back, Drago returned the favor by watching from afar here. This marked Super Fly's debut (who I honestly forgot was even a part of the show until now), and although he had an impressive outing, this was all about Cuerno and allowing him to maintain momentum by picking up a victory. A third match between Drago and Cuerno is obviously looming. Chavo Guerrero def. FenixFenix has been a human highlight reel since arriving in Lucha Underground and all of his matches have raged from good to great. Chavo hasn't been my favorite performer in the promotion up this point, but he has been built up as one of the top heels on the show and I guess I should have expected him to go over so the heels could get the upper hand in the feud. This was an entertaining encounter despite not receiving much time.

Pimpinela Escarlata def. Son of HavocBefore the bout, Havoc and Ivelisse cut a promo about how Havoc has been treated like a joke so far this season, first by facing a woman (Sexy Star) and then a midget (Mascarita Sagrada). He then issued an open challenge, which was accepted by an apparent transgender/cross-dresser competitor. Don't let that fool you, though. Escarlata can really go in the ring and this was an extremely exciting opener. Escarlata picked up the victory following interference and a distraction from Sagrada. Mil Muertes def. Famous BThis was way before Famous B became an agent of sorts. Instead, he wasn't much more than your typical enhancement talent. He stood no chance against Muertes, so of course, Muertes dominated a majority of the match and won with ease. I liked that Lucha Underground consistently featured Muertes on the show at this point and kept him unstoppable, building him up as a real force to be reckoned with. His mystique grows every week.
Mil Muertes def. DragoBoth of these guys are coming off victories from the last episode, so I thought it was strange to have them collide so soon. It was more important for Muertes to maintain momentum, so Drago losing was only academic albeit slightly disappointing. That said, why didn't King Cuerno (who was still bitter over Drago beating him the week prior) factor into the finish? Nevertheless, this was a good match (despite being a bit too short) and Cuerno attacked Drago afterward. Mascarita Sagrada def. Son of HavocSome fans may look at Sagrada and not take him seriously against most of the roster due to his small size (and that's totally understandable), but Havoc was a logical opponent for him since he isn't a giant, either. They had a fun match and both guys had solid showings. Also, I wouldn't argue that Havoc was heavily damaged by losing to Sagrada, if only because he hasn't been positioned as a big deal up to this point in the season, anyway. If nothing else, he continues to impress in every outing he's a part of.
Sexy Star def. IvelisseStar cut your typical babyface promo by calling out Chavo Guerrero for his actions the week before and promising to exact revenge eventually. In the meantime, she still had Ivelisse to deal with, and on the pilot of the show, Star lost to Ivelisse's boyfriend, Son of Havoc. This was our first actual women's match in Lucha Underground and it was decent. I thought Ivelisse largely carried Star, so while Star picked up the win, I was glad Ivelisse looked credible in defeat. Fenix def. Pentagon Jr.These two made a hell of an impression in their respective debuts on the previous episode and they once again put forth an excellent effort here. They had terrific chemistry together, but then again, they're brothers in real life, so that should have come as no surprise. I'd go so far as to say that this was the best bout on the show up to this point. The in-ring action was off the charts and Fenix winning two weeks in a row sent the message that the promotion had big plans for him.
