Daisy Kill and Talos def. The Heavenly ButterfliesHeavenly Butterflies is an interesting name for a tag team. This marked their NWA debut, and although they scored their fair share of offense, this seemed to be mostly designed to give Kill and Talos a win following their loss of the NWA United States Tag Team Championship at Samhain. It was more competitive than I thought it would be, but it ended up being a well-wrestled opener. NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Colby Corino def. Joe OcasioCorino continues to kill it as the fighting champion and have fun matches. Ocasio was impressive in his own right and had a solid showing before eating defeat. A case can absolutely be made for the junior heavyweight division being one of the best parts of the product right now. Corino and Joe Alonzo recently teased resuming their rivalry, but there was no interaction between the two on this show. Taylor Rising def. Airica Demia and Allie Recks in a Three-Way MatchThis was one of those instances where it would have helped if we heard from Demia and Recks beforehand because I'm not familiar with either one of them whatsoever. It also would've been nice if there were some stakes, but at least everyone involved got some exposure. Rising is the most established of the three, so it was logical for her to go over. There were rough spots here and there, but it was a fine match on the whole. The Brothers of Funstruction def. NWA United States Tag Team Champions The Immortals by DisqualificationI generally don't care for most matches involving Brothers of Funstruction, but this was at least a solid main event. The Immortals work well together, but it was too early into their title reign to think they were dropping the belts so soon. A team that the commentators referred to as The Boys interfered and attacked Brothers of Funstruction to cost them the win. That was a flat finish and these two newcomers don't look the least bit menacing, so we'll see how they develop and what the follow-up is. Overall ShowWe got some more fresh faces this week, but what I feared would happen is happening: new names are being introduced weekly and then we don't see them again for weeks or at all. What we're getting isn't bad as the shows are largely decent, but there are very few storylines that are being furthered from week to week and the matches lack meaning. Hopefully the show is just in a holding pattern until they can begin building toward their next pay-per-view, whenever that will be.
