Natalia Markova, Taylor Rising and Ruthie Jay def. CJ, Miss Starr and Missa KateIt was announced before the bell rang that whoever scored the winning fall would be crowned number one contender to the NWA Word Women's Championship. Uhm, okay. I could see that making sense if the champion was involved, but she wasn't, so that weird. Why not do a multi-woman match with these six stars? This was decent and Markova going over was logical, but I'd hate to see her get another title shot just to lose again. She's gotten a ton of title shots lately and has come up short every single time. NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Colby Corino def. Mecha Wolf (Homicide Served as Special Guest Referee)I feel like it's been a while since we last saw Homicide on NWA programming. I'm glad to see him back, but with his NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship reign lasting as long as it did, I have little desire to see him back in the mix for the title (assuming that's why he served as special guest ref here). That said, this was a nice match (aside from the ugly-looking finish). Wolf's tag team partner Bestia 666 posted on Instagram last month that he's done with the NWA, but it looks like Wolf is sticking around, unless this was meant to be his swan song. Daisy Kill and Talos def. The New Spectaculars 2.0 (Rush Freeman and Slade)Kill and Talos did a backstage interview beforehand making it clear they want back the NWA United States Tag Team Championship, so I like that they have something they're working toward and this wasn't just a random match. I mean, it was, but the idea is that Kill and Talos are trying to build momentum. This was a fairly average affair, and I don't particularly care for The Spectaculars (new or old), but I didn't think there was anything wrong with this technically speaking. It was fine. Thom Latimer def. Bryan Idol in a Fall Count Anywhere MatchThese two exchanged wins in a few intergender tag team matches involving Markova and Kamille. I didn't think their rivalry reached a point where a Falls Count Anywhere match was necessary, but I'd be lying if I said the stipulation didn't make this more interesting. They took their fight around the arena and the crowd was into all of the action. This ended up being pretty good, though they probably could have done without the waterboarding spot that had to be edited anyway. Overall ShowThis wasn't as championship-heavy as other editions of Powerrr since its premiere on The CW app, but it was still solid on the whole. Markova was named the new number one contender to the NWA World Women's Championship, Kill and Talos made their intentions clear, Corino successfully defended his Junior Heavyweight title, and the Falls Count Anywhere match was indeed worthy of the main event spot. Powerrr will never be must-see, but I continue to approach how they're back to building stuff week to week and announcing matches in advance.
