CJ def. Aron Stevens in a Turkey Gobbler MatchThis reminded of those Thanksgiving turkey suit matches TNA/IMPACT used to do, right down to the stipulation with the loser having to be humiliated afterward. It was total comedy, but I can't rag on it too much with it meant to be harmless holiday filler. We haven't seen too much of CJ in the ring (if at all), so I was curious to see how she'd fare and I thought she held her own. Her offense was limited, of course, but at least this didn't overstay its welcome. Kyle Davis Interviewed Father James MitchellMax the Impaler stood by Mitchell at the podium while he talked about how Max pinned Mims at Samhain as well as Kenzie Paige to win the NWA Women's Television Championship back at NWA 75. He put the both of them on notice and, honestly, he's not wrong for saying that Max deserves shots at both of their titles. Max vs. Mims would be an interesting intergender match, but it might be too soon for them to go back after Paige if they're not going to win. NWA World Women's Tag Team Champion Kylie Paige def. Big MamaI have no idea what purpose this was supposed to serve since we've never seen Big Mama before and Paige is a tag team competitor. Ella Envy wasn't in Paige's corner, either. They had a perfectly passable match, but this felt like a waste of time. An actual introduction to Big Mama might have helped give this more meaning so it wasn't so random. At least Paige won as she should have. Kyle Davis Interviewed The SlimeballsMaybe it was just me, but these two came off like the Nickelodeon version of MSK/The Rascalz, and not in a good way. Their mic work was mediocre at best and I can't say I was left looking forward to their eventual in-ring debut. I'll commend them for establishing who they are and giving the NWA audience a taste of what they're about, but this wasn't an impressive first impression. Maybe they'll change my mind in the ring. Hunter James and Adrian Thomas def. Jackson Drake and Lev the MessiahThis has been a recurring issue with the NWA, and I already discussed this in regards to Paige vs. Big Mama, but the fact these newer faces aren't receiving mic time or a vignette of some sort beforehand is hurting my interest level in these matches. This was an average outing and everyone had solid showings, but it's difficult for any one person to stand out in situations like this. These guys need to be featured again soon instead of disappearing for weeks or months on end to make this worthwhile. The Southern Six (NWA National Champion "Thrillbilly" Silas Mason, Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor) def. New Spectaculars 1.0 (Rolando Freeman, Rush Freeman and Tyler Midas)The Freemans were advertised to find a new partner now that Brady Pierce is gone from the promotion, and apparently they settled on Midas (whose audition tape from last week aired beforehand). That virtually guaranteed they were losing this match, especially considering they were facing Southern Six who are in the midst of being pushed at the moment. Overall ShowThis was the definition of a filler episode, even by Powerrr standards. That was pretty clear when they advertised the Turkey Gobbler match and that uneventful six-man tag team main event. Then again, it's a holiday week, so I can't give them too much grief. It's better than them not airing an episode at all. The NWA is introducing a lot of new people week after week, probably as part of this territory deal they've got going, so time will tell as to whether the strategy will improve Powerrr's quality long-term.
