Last week we saw multiple NXT wrestlers called up on Raw and SmackDown. We saw Enzo & Big Cass, Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin and The Vaudevillians. Enzo & Cass were definite call-ups but the other three weren’t expected to debut on the main roster this soon. I am a fan of Crews and Corbin but coming up right now might have been premature. The WWE are missing key singles competitors such as John Cena, Seth Rollins, Neville and Randy Orton so once these guys return Crews and Corbin probably will be lost in the shuffle with Tyler Breeze.
I want to see Corbin and Crews succeed but with how Neville and Tyler Breeze have been booked I fear for them. When it comes to The Vaudevillians I have never been a fan of either Aiden English or Simon Gotch and their gimmick will be hard to get over on the main roster. With Enzo & Cass also debuting I think the chances The Vaudevillians get over will be slim to none.
Enzo & Cass have the best chance to flourish on the main roster due to the mediocrity of the tag team division. Enzo & Cass are entertaining as an act but as in ring performers they aren’t that amazing. Besides the match they had at NXT TakeOver: London I couldn’t tell you a match they have had that I said that was great. The group got over on Raw but it will be interesting to see if the non-WrestleMania crowd will react the same.
Enzo & Cass should have the best chance to succeed; I am worried for Corbin & Crews and have no high expectations for The Vaudevillians. That is my “Two Cents” on the new NXT call-ups and it will be interesting to see how they are booked when top stars return.
