WWE NXT Level Up Review - March 22, 2024

Tavion Heights def. Saquon Shugars

This marked Shugars' first match on Level Up. He had a pretty impressive performance and putting him  there with someone who also has a collegiate wrestling background in Heights was smart. He also seems to have a presence about him, so if he can continue to hone his skills, he'll be one to watch in due time. The key is ensuring he doesn't disappear after this. This was a nice match from him and Heights.

Jaida Parker def. Lainey Reed

We got another Level Up debut here, this time from Reed. Parker didn't have many matches on Level Up before becoming a regular on NXT TV, so hopefully she gets more reps on Level Up so her inexperience isn't exposed. She probably wasn't the best person to put in there with the newcomer Reed, but this ended up being okay for what it was considering how much worse it could have been.

Eddy Thorpe def. Uriah Connors

Connors was the third straight debuting star on this show. It was said at one point that he's already appeared on NXT TV, but I have no recollection of that whatsoever. Apparently he and Thorpe have history together? Speaking of Thorpe, I have to imagine he's been hurt for the better part of the past few months because there has been zero follow-up to him winning his feud with Dijak. This was pretty good by Level Up standards, but despite how well-wrestled it was, the crowd didn't seem to be too into it.

Overall Show

This was a slightly different show than what we've been getting from Level Up as of late. Three fresh faces debuted and all of them had solid showings. The in-ring action was nothing special on the whole, but that was expected considering the circumstances with it being all about the debuts. They saved the best for last. I wonder why they decided to introduce three new names out of nowhere. Either way, this was a perfectly passable episode.
