5 Potential Swerves at Survivor Series in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title Match

The WWE was handed a blessing in disguise when Seth Rollins was injured and had to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Reports say Rollins was set to drop the title at Survivor Series to Reigns and work a program with HHH for WrestleMania 32. When the tournament was announced, most wrestling fans thought it would come down to Ambrose vs. Reigns in the finals.

My thoughts when the tournament was announced was that Reigns would win the title similar to how his cousin, The Rock won at Survivor Series '98 by siding with The Corporation but Reigns joining with The Authority. Reigns winning in my opinion was predictable once the tournament was announced. The WWE has the opportunity to throw a major swerve on Sunday, which is needed due to the drop of Raw’s ratings. Here are 5 potential swerves for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title match.

5. Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose Wins and Sheamus Cashes In

This swerve would be the worst swerve I could possibly think of. Sheamus has had the Money in the Bank briefcase for quite awhile and hasn’t done anything with it. He’s booked like a loser and wasn’t even on last Monday's Raw.

WWE must of thought Sheamus would be more over as a heel but he’s in feuds and matches that no one cares about. Sheamus cashing in would be terrible and the rematch at TLC would be a match I don’t want to see at TLC, which I will be in attendance for.

4. Dean Ambrose Wins and Joins The Authority

It seems that Reigns turning heel and joining the Authority is the favorite for any swerve for Sunday. I think Ambrose turning on Reigns and joining the Authority would be a swerve but make zero sense. Ambrose is unstable and a lunatic so why would he join the Authority. The chance of this happening isn’t high but is a potential swerve the WWE could do.

3. No One Wins the Title, Still Vacant

I heard this swerve on the Cruz Control Podcast between guests of WrestleRant Radio, Randy Cruz and Arden Franklin. Arden brought up how the WWE has in the past few years ended PPVs with no clear cut winner and how on Sunday neither man in the finals wins and they do the match at Tables Ladders and Chairs with the belt hung above the ring in a TLC match.

This a swerve that I don’t want to see happen like the Sheamus cash in but knowing WWE the turmoil/confusion of no winner will boost ratings for Raw the next night.

2. Kevin Owens Wins with Interference From HHH and Cesaro

When you want to swerve the crowd it needs to be a hit out of the park. Predictability must be low and has to be a fantasy booked swerve. In this swerve, HHH comes down during Ambrose and Owens which leads to HHH helping KO win. In the main event, Owens vs. Reigns it seems like HHH is going to get involved but Ambrose comes out to attack him. Over the barricade comes Cesaro and inadvertently hits Reigns with an uppercut leading to Owens hitting the Pop Up Power bomb for the win.

Cesaro acts all apologetic and stunned but helps HHH up and celebrates the win with KO and HHH in the ring. Next night on Raw, Owens gives Cesaro the IC title for helping him win the championship and sets up Cesaro vs. Reigns at TLC and HHH vs. Ambrose at TLC. Owens defends the title vs. a returning John Cena at TLC and gets his win back. #FightOwensFight

1. Bray Wyatt Leaves Survivor Series with the WWE World Heavyweight Title

This scenario was also brought up in the Cruz Control podcast but I had a different twist to it. The Brothers of Destruction beat The Wyatt Family in the beginning of the show. In the Cruz Control Podcast, Arden discussed either Ambrose or Reigns being attacked but I think him just appearing during the main event would be a bigger swerve.

The finals come down to Reigns vs. Ambrose and it’s a great match. Both men get knocked down with the referee. The Bray Wyatt video plays and he’s standing in the ring with Reigns set up for Sister Abigail and Reigns counters that. Numbers game with the Wyatt Family coming to Bray’s aid leads to Wyatt hitting Ambrose with Sister Abigail and good ole HHH slides in to count the 1,2,3. Wyatt wins and is the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Wyatt doesn’t align with The Authority and HHH explains he didn’t want either men to have the title and since Wyatt took advantage he decided to count the 1,2,3.

At TLC: Wyatt Family (Strowman, Harper and Rowan) vs. Reigns, Ambrose and Kane in a Tables match. Bray defends his title vs. The Undertaker in a TLC match and finally gets his biggest win by defeating the Deadman. HHH vs. Reigns or Ambrose is definitely in the cards for the future so him counting the pinfall can lead to a match.
