Jimmy Havoc def. Shawn Dean
Due to AEW dealing with a limited roster at the moment, Havoc has been all over Dark as well as Dynamite. Hey, he's great, so I'm not complaining. Dawn had a solid showing and Havoc went over in decisive fashion. This didn't last long at all, but it didn't need to. They got their stuff in and didn't overstay their welcome. This gave Havok a small momentum boost before he and Kip Sabian take on Best Friends this week on Dynamite.
Best Friends def. Lee Johnson & Musa
It was fitting that Best Friends were in action coming off Havoc's match because of how, as previously mentioned, they'll be facing off on Wednesday night. Their shtick isn't the same without fans in the building, but they tried their best to make this fun. Johnson and Musa scored some offense and looked good in defeat. If I had to nitpick anything, Orange Cassidy was missed at ringside.
Most editions of Dark in the last month have featured two enhancement matches and have only been 20 minutes in length, which is perfect in my opinion. There's no need for the hour to be filled out with meaningless matches and less is more with this type of thing. In this case, Sabian and Best Friends picked up necessary wins ahead of their encounter on Dynamite. Tony Schiavone and Cody once again made for a great duo on commentary and added to each of the matches. As you could probably tell, this was an efficient edition of Dark, yet nothing you need to go out of your way to see.
