Aaron Solo def. Sonny KissKiss has largely been relegated to Dark at Universal Studios in recent months, so it was nice to see him get a favorable reaction. Both him and Solo are positioned as undercard talent, so while it was difficult to care about this contest (and I didn't need to see it last as long as it did), it was well wrestled and could have gone either way. Kiss is one of those AEW originals whose contract may not be renewed considering the company clearly has no plans to push him. Abadon def. Gia Scottit's been at least two months since we last saw Abadon in action. That's not a complaint because I've never understood her appeal, but I'd be shocked if she was still on the roster by the end of the year given how inconsistent her appearances have been. She's won a majority of her matches in the AEW, but that isn't anything to write home about considering almost all of her wins have been against enhancement talent. This was a standard squash win for her that just sort of existed. Powerhouse Hobbs def. Lee JohnsonI don't think I've ever heard Johnson talk as much as I did during the video package that aired for him before this bout talking about his song on the newly-released album. He's a well-spoken individual and I wish he had more chances to talk. His impressive in-ring abilities speak for themselves and he had another solid showing in what was a fun match against Hobbs, who is the bigger star of the two and needed the win more. Dante Martin, Matt Sydal and Lee Moriarty def. The A.H.F.O. (The Blade and Private Party)The A.H.F.O. stuff has gotten to a point where it's just completely ridiculous. It sure looks like Matt Hardy is getting fed up with Private Party constantly losing, so if the endgame is splitting him away from them, I'm all for it. Unfortunately, something tells me Andrade El Idolo may take over the group from Hardy and I have even less interest in that. Private Party need to be back on their own. With all of that said, this was an entertaining main event with six guys that work well together. Dante got to shine as always and picked up the win for his team as he should have. Overall ShowI'm not sure when taped considering last week's Rampage was a taped show and that's usually when they'll do the occasional Dark in front of fans. Regardless, this was a quick and painless show with only four matches that were given much more time than your average Dark match. I wish we'd see this sort of stuff on Dark more often (with established talent, of course) instead of constant squashes. This was an easy near-40-minute show to sit through and the last two matches were especially enjoyable.
