AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy def. Rocky RomeroI could've sworn that we saw this match during Cassidy's original run as International champ, but maybe not. Either not, they worked well together as you'd expect and had an enjoyable opener despite the outcome never being in question. Cassidy isn't on the same hot streak that he was prior to All Out, but at least he's still delivering good matches whenever his gold is up for grabs. The Kingdom def. The HardysOn Matt's podcast earlier this month, The Hardys expressed frustration with how they've been used as of late and I can't say I disagree. They're obviously at at the tail end of their careers, but they're over enough that they should be doing more than they have been. I assume this latest loss to The Kingdom gets them closer to a heel turn. This was a quality contest and The Kingdom continue to rack up wins ahead of an eventual opportunity at the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Skye Blue def. Queen AminataBlue turning heel is a nice change of pace for her character after being the plucky underdog babyface for so long. However, she really needs to work on her facial expressions. She looks more bored than she does menacing. Nonetheless, this was a standard squash win for her. Aminata is talented, but this was all about giving Blue a win before she teams with Julia Hart against Abadon and Thunder Rosa on Saturday's Collision. AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo def. Black TaurusWas it ever explained why Taurus was granted another shot at the AAA Mega Championship after losing decisively to Vikingo at ROH Final Battle? It was another entertaining encounter from them, but I'm not sure why the average viewer would care about the AAA Mega Championship being defended in an AEW main event. Unsurprisingly, it was your typical spot-fest, but at least the crowd was into all of the action. Overall ShowFrom an in-ring standpoint, this was an upgrade over what we normally get from Rampage. The show was bookended by two thumbs-up matches and Blue and The Kingdom picked up momentum-building wins. Even with two title matches, it wasn't an eventful evening by any means, but I also didn't feel like I wasted my time by watching it. That's probably the best compliment I can pay to Rampage these days.
