Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta def. The Dark Order (John Silver and Evil Uno)It's amazing how much Cassidy has cooled off since his hot (first) run as AEW International Champion last year. He just feels like another dude on the roster at this point, especially when he teams with Beretta. This was a nice match, but I just can't bring myself to care about Dark Order at this point. It served as a small taste of what to expect in the upcoming AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament, if nothing else. "Timeless" Toni Storm and Mariah May def. Kayla Sparks and Little Mean KathleenDid this mark the first time that Storm and May have teamed up in AEW? It makes sense it'd finally happen now that May is doing the Storm cosplay gimmick. This was a simple squash meant to serve as a showcase for Storm and May before they battle Deonna Purrazzo and her mystery partner (who was revealed to be Thunder Rosa afterward) on Wednesday's Dynamite. I enjoy Storm's shtick, but she needs to do more to elicit heat so babyfaces like Purrazzo don't get booed. Konosuke Takeshita def. AAA Cruiserweight Champion Komander (Non-Title)I had heard rumblings after this taped that it was a banger (I attended Wednesday's Dynamite in Boston but left before the Rampage taping began). I don't regret leaving early, but this was indeed a very entertaining outing because two guys that can go. Takeshita being directionless is an absolute crime coming off his wins over Kenny Omega last year, but he has to be built back up following his loss to Will Ospreay at Revolution and that's essentially why this existed. The Undisputed Kingdom (AEW International Champion Roderick Strong and ROH World Tag Team Champions Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) def. Action Andretti and Top FlightUndisputed Kingdom haven't exactly been lighting the world on fire so far, but Strong, Taven and Bennett all having gold of some kind does them get back on track a bit. Andretti and Top Flight were no threats to them here, but this was a fun main event with non-stop action. Undisputed Kingdom desperately need momentum at the moment, and this won't be a game-changer for them, but at least it's a step in the right direction for them. Overall ShowAs noted in a previous paragraph, I had the chance to attend this taping after Wednesday's Dynamite in Boston and headed home before it got underway. It was a two-hour drive, you can't blame me! I don't regret the decision after watching this show, but that isn't to say it was a bad edition of Rampage by any means. It was actually a quality episode on the whole, but it featured nothing meaningful you need to seek out.
