The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn def. La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush, Dralistico and Preston Vance)It feels like The Acclaimed have been largely relegated to Rampage since losing the AEW World Tag Team Championship earlier this year with not much of note to do, but at least they're on television at all. This was a good match with LFI having a solid showing in defeat. I was wondering what purpose this served two days before Double or Nothing, but post-match, The Acclaimed obviously teased challenging House of Black for the AEW World Trios Championship. As of now, House of Black's open challenge for Double or Nothing still hasn't been officially accepted, so maybe the Acclaimed tease was a swerve? The Firm ("All Ego" Ethan Page and The Gunns) def. Three Local AthletesI'm still confused as to whether The Firm are still a thing or not. They weren't introduced as such here, but it's not like the members aren't together anymore. Either way, this was a pretty standard showcase for them. Post-match, it was revealed Hook will be filling in for an injured Isiah Kassidy on The Hardys' team at Double or Nothing. Although I'd love for this storyline to end already, I get the feeling it'll be far from over once The Hardys and Hook win and Page is forced to work for them. Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida def. Marina Shafir and Nyla RoseIt was strange seeing Baker and Shida on the same side again, but I understand they now have common enemies in The Outcasts. We haven't seen Shafir and Rose on AEW TV in a while because they were almost always on Dark and Elevation, but with the Dark shows no more, I doubt we'll be seeing them much going forward. This was a well-worked match. Afterward, The Outcasts were shown attacking Jamie Hayter backstage, so AEW is really trying to tell the story of Hayter being vulnerable going into Double or Nothing. The Firm (Big Bill and Lee Moriarty) def. Best FriendsBill and Moriarty have never won anything of importance as a team in AEW, so I was genuinely shocked by the result here. I also wasn't sure what incentive viewers had to care about this. It was a serviceable main event, but the only reason it existed was so that brawl with everyone in the AEW International Championship Battle Royale on Sunday could close out the show. I appreciate the attempt, but I can't say it was overly effective considering most of these people were Dark regulars. Overall ShowLast year's Rampage was live in Las Vegas before Double or Nothing that weekend, but that was not the case this year. That made this show even more inconsequential, not to mention that it featured nothing worth seeking out. I can't imagine it made anyone more excited for Double or Nothing, but the card already sells itself. This tag team-filled hour was a waste of time and didn't really accomplish anything outside announcing the House of Black Open House Rules match for Sunday night.
