AEW World Trios Champions The Elite (IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) def. AR Fox and Dante FoxI enjoyed their original encounter on Dynamite, but there was no real reason for a rematch, not to mention this wasn't nearly as entertaining. It had its moments, but I hated how they relied way too heavily on the basketball comedy nonsense. That's a Being The Elite skit if I've ever seen one, and that's not a compliment. The timing of this was fitting in that it was reported today WWE may have interest in signing Omega and I'd love to see him make the move if it meant less of this sort of stuff. On the bright side, House of Black emerged afterward, so that appears to be the Trios title match for Revolution. Ricky Starks def. Daniel GarciaStarks lost a lot of steam with that loss to Jericho Appreciation Society in that dumb Gauntlet match a week or so ago, so it was imperative he won here. Speaking of loss of steam, I'm still disappointed AEW didn't pull the trigger on a babyface turn for Garcia when they had the chance last summer. The J.A.S. crap has long overstayed its welcome and Starks is no longer benefiting from working with them. This was a well-wrestled affair, but I'm ready for this rivalry to be over with. Starks vs. Chris Jericho must be announced next week for Revolution. AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill def. Vertvixen in an AEW TBS Championship Eliminator MatchCargill surpassed 50-0 a few weeks ago, so I don't know why she's still spinning her wheels and hasn't settled into an actual storyline yet. Even the stuff with The Baddies was forgettable. It's possible Kris Statlander will be back very soon and they're holding off on Cargill entering another feud until then, but Revolution is coming up in two weeks, so hopefully they don't rush it for that event. In fact, don't rush anything for Cargill on that show if it's going to come together at the last minute. This was a standard squash from her. Dustin Rhodes def. Swerve Strickland by DisqualificationI believe Rhodes has gone on record in saying that 2023 will be his last year in the ring, so I've had no problem with him feuding with Strickland as of late, especially in the absence of Keith Lee (who was reportedly out hurt). This had strong storytelling and a great dynamic. Rhodes held his own and Strickland continues to be an excellent heel. I could've done without the lame disqualification finish, though. Lee returned afterward with a new look, but the execution of it was terrible, specifically due to Parker Boudreaux. This was a taped show and they couldn't edit that to make it look better? Overall ShowAs I've said before, Rampage is a much easier watch before WWE SmackDown than it is afterward. I don't know why that move hasn't been made yet, unless the ratings are noticeably higher at the usual time slot. There was some star power and bigger names on this show, but I still can't say it was all that great on the whole. I liked the main event, but the Cargill squash was whatever, Starks vs. Garcia didn't overly interest me because of the storyline they're doing, and the opener wasn't my cup of tea. Rampage was way more storyline significant this week compared to your average episode, so that was appreciated.
